Overcharging for proximity to campus :

Sad, sad, sad!

Yes, excellent quality (many sellers organic or pesticide free, tried a sample of C&B farm's kale, which was DELICIOUS, etc), supports local farmers, etc, BUT:

Pricing is ridiculous for what you get, like they overcharge due to proximity to UCSF, (Clement Street farmer's market is infinitely more affordable & just as good quality); market is relatively small (there should be demand for a larger market, though I see why demand may be lower currently with these prices😒!!!)

Pros: Excellent quality, Supports local farmers

Cons: Ridiculous pricing, Small size

Lots of options year round

I love this farmer's market not just because it's in my neighborhood, but because it feels like home. It's small enough that you get to know the regulars, but big enough that you can comparison shop - who has the best deal on apples this week? Oh look, blueberries are in season now! That sort of thing. You can also get lots of free samples from the nut sellers - delicious almonds, just watch out for honey on them. The prepared food selection is a bit slim for vegans. Sometimes there's a hand pie that's vegan, sometimes not. But you can always gorge on fresh produce and nuts while you shop. Figs, cherry tomatoes, blueberries, strawberries, almonds - yum!

Pros: open year round, good place to find a deal, friendly farmers

Cons: sells animal products
