I want to love it - Edit
last summer i tried this place for the first time. i was very unimpressed, as the food i got was either underseasoned or over salted. (the canes copycat chicken was bland and the sauce was super salty) although the strawberry milkshake was awesome. i wanted to wait until i revisited to make a review. today i picked up the korean bbq chick sandwich, philly egg roll, greens, and their mac and cheese (not the gf one). the mac was the same as i had gotten it before. the noodles are overcooked, and its not bad, but its not great either? it doesn’t really taste like cheese or fake cheese, just flavored pasta. the bbq sandwich was decent, i liked the slaw a lot. but the chicken by itself is just kinda off? i ate 5 mins after picking it up and the burger was not hot. the philly roll was good, but for $5 i want it to be bigger. the greens are good. the family that runs it is super nice, the establishment is clean, the menu vast. i think they should trim it down, honestly, and hone in on perfecting each dish. unfortunately i’m not sure if i’ll return

Fantastic amazing wonderful great! - Edit
While on a business trip in Madison, someone from the company I was visiting who knew I am a vegan ordered in lunch from Just Veggiez for the whole crew. Everyone, meat eaters and veg lovers alike agreed that the food blew away all our expectations and was truly delicious. Love this place and will definitely go eat there next time I’m in Madison again. Thank you for making your food with love and passion.

Cute little upstairs vegan cafe! - Edit
I was surprised at the size of the menu I really loved that it was all vegan and everything sounded very tasty. Our party of 2 got the cheese curds to share, Justveggiez burger and the Jammin Jerk Chicken Sandwich. Our sides were the cheesy Mac & cheese and Justveggiez Greens. Seasoning was spot on for all the dishes and the sandwiches were saucy and sloppy in a good way.

So good! - Edit
The fried cheese curds and mushroom Swiss burger were amazing. The greens that came with the burger were cooked, not a salad. It’s probably mentioned on the menu, but I missed it.

Vegan Black Owned Restaurant - Edit
Their drumsticks are a must anytime I go. I’ve gone a few other times and tried to venture out with other menu items such as their which were okay. But I’ll always go back for their Parmesan drumsticks!!

SO glad to have a delicious vegan spot on State - Edit
Finally got to experience what all the hype was about. A tasty stop along State st, the restaurant is in a second floor unit. The cheese curds were some of the best we’ve had. We absolutely loved the street corn, southwest burger, and mushroom Swiss burger. Will have to come back to try more of the menu!

Wonderful and lots of choices - Edit
There were so many things to choose from it was hard to decide. I got the chickn burger with sweet potato fries. The slaw, pickles, and Buffalo sauce really made it delicious and the fries were great. Service was quick and so kind. It is located upstairs above Sugar. Can’t wait to return on my next layover in Madison.

We were surprised about the lack of patronage on a Saturday, because this place is dynamite! Fully vegan menu, cute upstairs dining area, and reaaaaally good comfort food. Try the curds!

The Worst Food EVER. - Edit
Zero stars!
Read moreJustVeggiez literally ruined my day at Veganmania in Milwaukee on June 2nd, 2024. The most disgusting vegan food I've ever had in my life. So p.o.'d I wasted $40 on this food -- I wouldn't even serve my worst enemy. Not fresh; NO salt, pepper or ANY seasoning on every single thing we ordered; expensive for quality worse than Taco Bell; no one cared. Threw it ALL away. Husband and I highly DO NOT recommend. And the service was terrible as well. Kids working were not happy to be there. Never again.
Ps. Just look at the Google reviews. They speak for themselves. And the owner is the moderator for the Madison area vegans on FB and deleted all negative comments about his establishment. Terrible.
Cons: Quality, Flavor, Price

I have noticed something similar about their popups! We had ordered some type of loaded fries and noticed that it also didn’t have any salt which we found very odd. It lacked flavor without any sodium - so I can empathize. That being said, it’s a family run business (that’s why you saw his children working there) and I would recommend you check out their storefront in Madison. The food is night and day different - a favorite is the pizza. Hopefully you can give them another chance (in a different context).

Yummy Fried Food - Edit
This meal was perfect for a tasty fried food excursion! The sandwich was really tasty and fried. I think it was made of vital wheat gluten, so very curious what their gf version is like. The mac was good, but excited to try the “cheese” curds next time. Delicious pretzel bun and they even have the good kind of salt at the tables (I like good salt, ha)

Not good - Edit
The only good thing was the cheese curds. The rest was practically inedible. They don't use as much as salt to season. Completely bland. Mac and cheese was literally pureed it was so overdone. The meat alternative was similar to that of a wet sponge unfortunately. I was really excited to try it, and really wanted to enjoy it, but it was worse than fast food. I'd rather eat the taco bell next door and that is sad to me..

Just OK - Edit
My wife and I had the gyro, reuben, cheese curds, and fries. The gyro and reuben were both ok, not great. The gyro had some sort of sauce, but not tzatziki. The fries seemed like cheap frozen fries. The breading on the cheese curds was great, but the cheese was just ok. The atmosphere was super strange as well. I'm always glad that a totally vegan place exists, but I don't expect I'll be jumping at the next opportunity to return to this one.

Meeting Madison’s need for vegan restaurants - Edit
At long last, JustVeggiez has a new brick-and-mortar location! The menu is huge, the restaurant is clean and bright, and the food is awesome. Being family-owned and -run is the icing on the cake. I had the Italian beef with greens and my husband had the combo Italian with quinoa salad. Will definitely come here again and again.
