Best vegan Bún Huế I’ve ever had

Makes sense it took me coming to VN to finally have good bun hue but it has been a long time coming. Gonna come back and try the pho too.

Okay but somehow not great

It's very awkward how they charge for the buffet. They guess a price based on how loaded your plate looks but they overload it with rice before instead of putting it into a separate cup. I went for dinner. The mock meats were dead fried and too fatty and too seasoned. Somehow it wasn't really overwhelming. It's nice that everything is vegan, though. I was there in the evening approx 7/8pm and had the impression the buffet dishes were already sitting there for some time. Maybe it's nicer at an earlier time when food is still warm and freshly prepared.

Cons: Too seasoned, Awkward price guessing game

Yummy

Good, cheap eat. Can be a bit daunting if you’re not into the fake meat stuff but plenty of tofu and veg options.
They’ve got a little banh mi stall out the front too

Our TOP restaurant in Phu Quoc

Was a very strange but fabulous experience to eat all the foods I haven't had in 35-40 years! Like a (all vegan) fried egg, pork belly, bacon, sausage, chicken wing, corn fritter, etc. We ordered the rice buffet so we can try it all. You get a plate with rice and put all your toppings on it. Plates range from 40-80,000 which is almost free! They also give you a soup with it which was not really our flavor.

Cheap and tasty!

50k for a generous plate of food. Some of the meat substitutes were a little greasy and tough but a delicious meal overall!

Local Vietnamese vegan restaurant

It's actually vegan. Cheap all vegan restaurant serving com chay and other classic Vietnamese vegan food. Right in the heart of the night market. Serves a few drinks too. No English spoken. Menu in Vietnamese and English.
Payment by cash or bank transfer.

Our Go-To Local Spot!

This place was amazing! Wether it was the buffet that had tons of protein options or the menu items. Even my non-vegan boyfriend was blown away by it and we returned here several times. It’s super cheap and authentic. 12/10 chefskiss!

Good cheap food! Recommend

Near / in the Night Market! So location is great. Food is straightforward. Different soups with fake meats or buffet - rice and different meats and vegetables.

Food was good. We had the buffet and had some seitan based meats and vegetable rice. No clue what we were eating but it was vegan and tasty so thumbs up!

They charge the buffet by some wierd concept based on the owner saying the price. Mine was 80k and the person I was with was 70k. I had more food. He had less but more meat I think. He was taller than me so maybe they charge based on height. No measuring by weight. So be prepared for a surprise price!

The soups are standard prices.

Pros: Food, Location : night market

Cons: No idea how much buffet will cost!

Super tasty food for an unbeatable price.

I was there surrounded by locals. They serve a variety of delicious soups like Pho, spicy „beef“ noodles etc. and it was so delicious and cheap. I took lunch dinner (same time 😇), had a water and paid 70k dong.
They also offer snacks like crispy fried tofu slices (like crisps) for takeaway. I would eat here every day. I was amazed 😍

Pros: Soups!, Takeaway snacks., prices.

Local eats

We went three times and it was always good. They give you a plate of rice and then you can choose from the buffet items. The amount of rice you get seems to be dependent of your hight or body type, as my boyfriend always got double the amount of what I got.
We did pay the same price every time we went, 45K a plate.

Would definitely recommend going before 12 pm as the food will still be warm. Menu items don’t get replaced during the day and the selection at night is rather small in comparison.

Tasty food for a good price

Finally a Vietnamese restaurant where you can choose what to eat! And that fills your stomach. There was a large selection of vegetables, tofu and fake-meat that we could add to our rice dish. Even spring rolls. You can put as much on your plate as you want, then the owners make a price.

Pros: Choose your own food, Choose your own portion, Local style

Cons: Staff was bit uninterested, Spring rolls were not fresh

Seems very local

„You eat less, you pay less, you eat more, you pay more“. That‘s what say told us, how it works.
I thought it was great, my husband was not that excited. So tastes are different. 🙂 I think, I tried all „meat“-variations, greasy, but most of them good. Pure tofu not that much…
You can also choose one dish instead of the buffet.

I had toggle, eggplant, mixed veggies and vegan protein meet and rice for 40k dongs. It was delicious . But the food is there all day, like a Warung in Indonesia, so it’s not hot. But for me is okay.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Veryvtasty, Good price

Good and large selection

I’ve been here everyday nearly for 5 days and it’s been really good.
There is a large selection and all very cheap. The most I paid was 60k. Some of the food was a bit too salty that I couldn’t eat it but couldn’t fault it apart from that.
Not the best customer service but I don’t speak Vietnamese so don’t expect a conversation if you don’t either! Lots of locals eat here so you know it must be authentic.

Pros: Very cheap, All vegan

Not an enjoyable experience

Me and my partner normally enjoy mock meats but this was a step too far for us. We got a plate of food from the buffet, which I think must have been sitting there for a very long time. Everything was stone cold and was either super sweet or very salty, or both! There was an overpowering taste of fish on everything which was very off putting too. The tofu was all cut into giant blocks and pretty unflavored, the rice was cold and very dry and the only available greens tasted pretty old. We were charged 140k for the honour (this included 2 small bottles of water)

I understand that there is a language barrier but we were met with an extremely frosty welcome which was a bit unnerving when we didn’t know how the place operated and were given no guidance.

Pros: I guess it’s cheap sometimes, The fake crackling was interesting

Cons: Not very fresh, Not welcoming environment

Garküche mit gutem Angebot

Garküche mit sehr guten Suppen und Buffet. Da keiner Englisch spricht, empfiehlt es sich die Karte (siehe Photos) vorher anzuschauen und im Internet zu googlen, was dahinter steckt.

Streetfood with good soups and buffet (not all you can eat!) Since no-one is able to speak out understand English, please take a look in the menu (see pictures) upfront and Google what's behind it.

Pros: Buffet, Suppen

Cons: Buffet wird nicht geheizt, Ist nicht so sauber wie ein Restaurant

our daily for two weeks!

We went every single morning and had almost every dish on the menu. It’s cheap and very yummy! Few times it got very busy with locals and you have to squeeze in.
I‘d not have the free iced tea (on the middle table) as some customers don’t care about hygiene…
The price of your rice plate will differ depending on how much you put on it. It’ll be judged by the lady, if you don’t trust her, just order noodle soup as there’s a menu with prices on the wall. The noodle soups (25-30k) are amazing! For rice with some sides you probably pay 50-60k but as stated above, it depends what/how much you stack on your plate. The buffet has significantly less choice after lunch time.
I don’t think that she rips tourists off as mentioned in other reviews. She seems harsh and is loud but is actually hilarious. I’ll miss this place. #Veganuary

Pros: all vegan, low prices, local experience

Very nice vegan restaurant

We went there in the morning around 9 or 10 am.
I just wanted to have a noodle soup. But when I entered the place, there were so many nice looking food. And she gave me plate on rice. And I could take whatever i wanted. She also gave me a small bowl of soup. It was very nice. Noodle soup was also nice. I want to try more noodle menu next time.

I read other reviews on happycow and google. Some ppl complain about overcharging and stuff. We had one pho, one plate rice with sides, two rice with sides take out and they charged us 150k. Thought it was fair enough.

They had many tofu and veggies even salad. I think it’s always nice to go there early when the food are still nice and fresh.

My favorite on Phu Quoc

Small buffet restaurant.
Basic setup, you get a plate with rice and can pick from buffet.
Price gets eyeballed and is super cheap (around 50k) for an entire plate with soup.

Food was always great, go there early to have more choices as dishes won't be filled up.

As well offers some a la carte items.

Many locals eat here - always a good sign 👍

Pros: Great food , Super cheap , 100% vegan with many locals eating there

Cons: No explanation on dishes due to language barrier
