Silken Tofu and Fresh Soy Milk

Being a vegan one gets to eat lot of tofu and soy milk, but they are always mass produced and sold in supermarkets and made in one city and perhaps sold kms and kms away. This was perhaps as fresh as it can get.

We had a Soya Bean and Cincau - Soy Milk with grass jelly. It was raining a few minutes before we arrived here and it was humid and this drink did the trick. Cool and not too sweet and the jelly pieces added some texture and a bit more sweetness. A fantastic drink. Felt nothing artificial was added like the soy milk we get in cartons here. The best soy milk I have had.

We also had a Tau Fu Fah - Tofu pudding with a sweet syrup at the bottom. The silken tofu was a warm (never had warm silken dessert tofu) and it was love at first bite. I am amazed that such a simple dessert can taste so good and makes you feel so good. Why crave cakes, cookies and junk desserts when we can have this.

The best - nothing else to add. #Veganuary

Pros: Tofu Milk, Tofu Pudding

Cons: Why is it 15k kms away from me?

Great stall!

A must in Chinatown in the heart of the market! This stall is highly visible, located on the corner with usually a short line to buy the products. I tried both the soy drink and the tofu pudding, both excellent at a good price! If you are in the area it is definitely worth a visit. Note that there are no tables to sit down, so take away only. If you want you can ask for the sugar free option, the owner is really nice!

Soy good

Bought a cold and sweet soy drink. Ideal for the warm weather and the bustle of the Petaling Street Market in Chinatown. The stall is cash or GrabPay only. While I enjoy soy a lot, it might not be for everyone.

Simple is better

Simple, tasty and nutritious dessert for cheap.
A big surprise that the soy curd with ginger and sugar was served hot.

LOVE.

Amazing fresh and delicious soy milk! I tried both the milk and the dessert and absolutely loved both. It’s a popular spot and they were already closed the first night I tried to go. The dessert reminded me of flan. And I used to love flan. The milk was so fresh and amazing. I ended up with grass jelly in it, which I ended up straining out for fear of gelatin. But it is possible to get it without. It was all so good. I’d come back to KL just for this!

Not for anyone

Tried this just out of curiosity and because I like both silken tofu and ginger. I didn't like them together that much😄Or maybe it was the sugar... But at least I got my daily protein dose.

Pros: Cheap, Interesting authentic experience

Cons: Didn't like it :D

Interesting dessert

We got the To Fu Fah in our own bowl which is great. It comes with a lot of sugar, so we would order it with less the next time. But it’s really delicious

Pros: Cheap, Homemade , Yummy

Cons: Lots of sugar

Cheap and tasty vegan dessert

This stall right in center of Jalan Petaling is a vegan sweet gem. I had to the warm soft tofu with ginger and sugar syrup and it was delicious! Cheap as well. Always people there. Try bring your own container as they only serve in disposable plastic.

Pros: Vegan desserts

Cons: Serves everything in disposable plastic

Soy milk and silken tofu dessert

Place was super popular with locals which is always a good sign! We had a soy milk which was served cold, a bit sweet but still really good. We also had the tofu with i think ginger sugar - it’s served warm with syrup over the top, not the best thing ever but definitely worth trying! Only downside to this place is the sheer amount of plastic used - considering a lot of people were standing round and eating it, reusable bowls would be nice

fresh and cheap

traditional chinese dessert. Texture might be weird if you try it for the first time. Definitely an acquired consistency and taste. Not too sweet and very fresh.

Pros: fresh, cheap

Tau foo what?

I tried the Tau Foo Fah and expected it to be cold but it was actually warm. I think I probably would have liked it better if it was cold but it was worth it since it was cheap.

Just went after they opened so I assume it should be warm.

An unusual but cool stall!

Right in the middle of Petaling street market so was pretty busy and needed to queue. Was a bit uncomfortable to wait. Server was super efficient and was quite fun to watch him serve and bag as if he has done it a million times before (maybe he has?). Had the pudding and the drink. Drink was a decent, fresh soy drink. The pudding was strange....still not sure if I liked it or not!

Pros: Speedy service, Soy milk drink was good

Cons: An acquired taste shall we say..., Long line, Not the best place to have to queue

cheap

For me (European) it was an unusual thing to try, so that was cool, also very cheap. I tried the tofu desert and unfortunately did not like it. But it's definitely worth a try!

Pros: cheap, something new and unusual

Cons: did not like it

Typical Chinese desert

Tau Foo Fah is a famous Chinese desert and you will see a lot of Chinese waiting in line for it. It is good! It's very simple: silky tofu served with a sweet ginger syrup. They also offer soy milk with the same syrup and jelly grass if you wish. Both items are 1,70 ringgits.

Pros: Very cheap, Good desert
