Nice Ambiance, Tasty Food, but Small Portions

Ko-So Cafe is a chill spot with warm ambiance in Ebisu. Perfect for a small group or a date.

I got a risotto, which was tasty, but rather small for the price. The cost is a bit of a deal breaker for regular visits, but I'd maybe eat here again if I was already in the area.

The location makes Ko-So a good companion visit for the Weller vegan konbini near by. Definitely check that out if you want a glimpse into the vegan shopping future!

Great!

Cute, small restaurant with cozy interior. The restaurant is easy to find and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

We had brown rice with salad and soy meat. The vegan meat was great and super juicy and perfectly seasoned. I can highly recommend it!!

Unfortunately the oven in the kitchen was broken and many dishes could not be prepared. Maybe next time!

For dessert we had coffee and a tiramisu cake. Very
tasty!

Pros: Super tasty and fresh , Great service , Cozy place

Cons: Small portion size

Healthy and simple

If you’re in the mood for a simple, healthy meal then this cafe is the perfect place. I tried a coconut infused curry with some fried soymeat as a topping and it really hit the spot.

The flavors are mild here but everything is really balanced and just nice.

I assume a lot of their business on weekdays comes from the nearby offices but note it does get crowded on the weekends and holidays so a reservation is recommend!

Not just vegan, but healthy

One word: Amazing.
Friendly staff, great choices and very tasty food that is healthy, but tastes just amazing. I had brown rice with soy meat sauted in a sweet spicy sauce and a small parfait as dessert with buckwheat pancakes.

Pros: Friendly staff, Easy to find, Great options

Cons: Portions a bit (!) small, Menu is a bit hard to understand sometimes

Hits the spot

Had a really solid, tasty satisfying meal. Ordered the big spring roll and the Yurinchi and Korean chicken style set and the Tiramisu for dessert. Nothing out of the park, but all good. Very pleasant spot.

Pros: Food, Atmosphere , Location

Small and Cozy

The location was nice for a coffee break but the cake slice was too small for the money and it also came frozen 🥲

Pros: Card Ok, Sugar Free Cakes

Cons: Quite Pricey for the Size, They serve the cakes almost frozen🥶

Tasty food

Went there for dinner. Juicy soy meats with scallion soy sauce were simply delicious. Veggie curry could be spicier. If you add the shop LINE account, you’ll receive some coupons you can use for the next time. I got a glass of sweet ko-so soda for free.

Came back to this place for dinner. I got Korean spicy chicken plate and tiramisu. Soy chicken marinated with gochujang was super good.

Is this place English friendly? Or would you need to know some simple Japanese?

Good enough

I had the vegan chicken sandwich and it was alright but the "tiramisu" I wouldn't recommend to be honest, it was too heavy and didn't taste anything like a tiramisu.

Smelled delicious as soon as we walked in

Went here for lunch. Had the boscaiola pasta dish and my partner had the Yurinchi. The pasta was warm, flavorful, and filling, and the Yurinchi dish had a good variety of bites with melt-in-your-mouth soy meat. The soy lemon tart was not too sweet and a good finish to the meal. We both ordered the brown rice tea, one was a latte, and it was not something I was used to the flavor of so I didn’t really like it at first, but that was personal taste and it did end up growing on me throughout the meal to my surprise. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice and chill, good vibes.

Pros: All vegan, Portion size, Good atmosphere

Tasty and yummy "diet" pancakes

Love this convenient but small restaurant with a variety of items on the menu. Have had the pasta before, while more often I go for the tasty and filling diet pancake

Good fresh food

Had lunch at Ko-So Cafe, which was good overall. We were two people and ordered pasta as main dishes (white sauce with nuts and red sauce with mushrooms), which were nice, not overwhelming but good. The red pasta came with a very generous amount of mushrooms and the white pasta came with plenty of mixed nuts, including macadamia, cashews, pine nuts and brazil nuts. We also had a japanese style salad with tofu, kale, fresh sprouts and kelp, which was good as a starter. Since portions tend to be small-ish in Japan (from experience) and we were hungry, we also ordered a portion of curry with brown rice. The curry was a bit unusual since it was blended and was more of a sauce for the rice, the taste was good though. The rice was exceptionally tasty! We read reviews before about the pizza not being great, so we didn't try it (a bit deceiving that the pizza is the title image for the place on here). We also had desserts, the japanese pancakes with a filling of sweet bean paste and soy cream, and a slice of the tiramisu, which resembles a common tiramisu but consists of one layer. These were exceptionally delicious and not too sweet. On the menu it says that they don't use refined sugars. We had a glass of the fermented soda and a smoothie. The soda was sweeter than expected but had a good taste and the smoothie was nice.

We experienced Ko-So Cafe as a nice all-vegan place for a healthy lunch with friendly and attentive staff. We had a big lunch with one starter and three main dishes, two desserts, a home-made soda and smoothie, and ended up paying a bit over 7000¥.

Pros: tasty food, great desserts, friendly, attentive staff

Cons: relatively high price if you're hungry, strange music

Awesome!

Tried the Yurinchi Plate (which seems to be popular) with drink and lemon soy milk tiramisu.. It was delicious and not expensive! Non-vegan friends tried the two types of sandwiches and they really enjoyed them too. I would like to come back next time and try the other menu.

Delicious vegan cheese and cream!

We had the nachos, piazza, veggie meat and brownie. Everything was perfect apart for the pizza base ( the toppings were delicious!)

Pros: All vegan, Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, Affordable

Cons: Pizza skin doesn’t mimic a real one

Healthy, Tasty, Friendly!

Knowing about this place for a long time and finally came for dinner.
Food, service and atmosphere were all more than what I’d expected!

- You Lin Ji plate ¥1,100?
The Chinese sweet-sour fried chicken plate came with side dish, salad and rice.
The chicken had chewy texture and the source matched well with it. The sides and rice was also good.
Perfect portion for the price

- Seasonal plate ¥1,100?
The main was black vinegar fried soy meat with pumpkin and it was delicious! Other things were similar to the first one.

- Nachos ¥650?
The sauce was meaty and the spiciness was just on point! But the portion was not satisfying enough for the price compared to the meal plate. Also the chips looked pretty normal.

The music they play is also nice and staffs are friendly!

Pros: Healthy and cost friendly meal set, Fast and friendly service

Cons: They sometimes have private party

4.5* quick cheap tasty and filling!

Great choice if you’re in the area (last order at 8:30 on a Sunday when I went), and if I lived nearby I’m sure I’d come here all the time. 4.5 because I don’t think they do anything particularly unique, and the ambiance isn’t anything special. But overall this place is a comforting and affordable option!

Interesting and fulfilling

Had lunch there today. Place is nicely decorated and staff very friendly. Had the pasta nuts dish which was a premiere for me to taste pasta together with nuts.
Lots of different nuts and a nice creamy white sauce made the dish enjoyable and fulfilling. Taste could have been a bit more special with some more spice so I added salt and pepper.
Overall nice experience. Will come back to try other options.

Just no

Vegan food should be just as or more delicious than non-vegan food to be able to motivate more people to choose it over less compassionate alternatives. Ko-So Cafe failed to meet that standard with its expensive pizza. The crust didn't resemble anything even close to what you'd expect of a pizza crust: it was thin but grainy and a bit too crunchy. The toppings were fine, and the vegan cheese that was an attempt to mimic a cream rather than a mozzarella cheese was tolerable. But for the price tag, I would never come back to this place. This is the kind of restaurant I picture when people complain about vegan food being "too healthy" or marketed to women who like cute stuff.

Cons: not a good value, only tolerable food

Just perfect

On my trip to Tokyo and having a hard time finding plant based food this place really provided the nourishment i needed. The menu is creative and tasty. Really enjoyed it.

Pros: Their soy cheese on their pizza

Cons: My stomach not being big enough to try more!
