Disappointing - Edit
Came here expecting this place to be promising, since it is fully vegetarian and the location (it´s in a park), interior and terrace are quite nice.
Read moreI ordered the burger, assuming it would be vegan since it was labeled as plant-based on the menu and had no animal products listed as ingredients (I should have read the reviews on here before coming). Sadly, after it arrived and I took a few bites, I quickly realized the burger had dairy cheese on it which was confirmed by the staff. For a place that claims to care so much about sustainability, is it really necessary to add dairy cheese to a burger?
They made a new one for me without the cheese, after I asked them if I could get something vegan instead, but I doubt that even the cheeseless version was vegan because it came on a soft bun (sadly I thought about this a little too late). So, I got the idea the staff does not really even know what vegan is, that is disappointing for a vegetarian restaurant.
It also took ages for them to prepare my new burger, since apparently they only had one chef and he was on a break. I stayed way longer than I wanted to.
I also asked for my mint tea to come without honey or pastries, yet I got it with a piece of cake...
I won´t be coming back here. I would recommend vegans to only go here if you´re fine with getting fries and snacks like bittterballen only, not a full meal, since the truly vegan options are lacking and the menu doesn´t clearly label what´s vegan.
Pros: Fries and vegan mayo of Friethoes, Staff was nice
Cons: Vegan options aren´t clearly labeled, Long waiting time , Staff doesn´t seem to know what vegan is

Limited options and lacking flavours - Edit
The cafe is in a former glass house and decorated with a lot of large plants and vintage worn-out furniture. There is no serving. You have to pick your order up with a beeper.
Read moreThe menu was limited. The only vegan options were a pulled mushroom wrap, fries with vegan mayo and a croquette (if you leave the bread out. The croquette tastes good. The pulled mushroom wrap missed some flavours and was a bit too cold. The ginger tea was way too strong (they add about 5-6) slices of ginger in a cup).
There is no menu. There is only something written on a calk board, with no mention of it being vegan. The menu on their website only mentions last year's menu, which also fails to mention what the abbreviations mean. I think they do not explicitly mention the vegan options.
Pros: Atmosphere, Pretty fast
Cons: Limited vegan options, Home-made dishes lack flavour, No menu

Good select of vegan cakes and lunch - Edit
Lovely place, you can either sit more ‘inside’ which is a bit warmer in winter or outside-ish in the greenhouse. They have a good selection of vegan sweets (fresh apple pie was delicious! And a good vegan croissant) and dito lunch dishes. We both had the pulled mushroom pita and agreed it was great. Very friendly service as well

Amazing vegan cakes! - Edit
I was surprised by how many items on the menu were vegan. I came early, so I had a coconut yogurt bowl which had delicious granola. I also had a cappuccino with oatmilk, which was one of the best that I've had. Finally, I had the lemon cake. You cannot taste that it's vegan at all, it was super creamy! My friend had a pumpkin-pecan cake, which is great for people that like it a little bit less sweet.

Nice brunch! - Edit
Came around 11:00 o'clock and discovered there were only vegan options available for lunch, which officially starts at 12:00. They allowed us to pick something from the lunch menu saying it would take a bit longer to prepare the food. They came back with the food super quickly though and it tasted really good! Especially the pita bread with mushrooms.
Read moreYou can sit inside the greenhouse (which was cold in winter) or in the café. It's an interesting place to visit
