Beautiful Place with Delicious Food

We came here just for dinner and were not disappointed. Having an Apéro in the beautiful garden interacting with the friendly cats was a nice experience. The food was outstanding. Nothing we had was processed, most of it came from their garden. The owners and staff were all very friendly and the cats even came inside to keep us company.

Pros: No processed food, Great staff, Beautiful garden

Perfect retreat in rural Normandy

We had a lovely stay in the cottage , able to cook for ourselves or eat in the restaurant , wonderful hosts that gave you space but were always available if needed. We had 2 evening meals there which were both really delicious , hearty and healthy. We really enjoyed our stay,
and thanks to Debbie who made booking by email really easy!

Pros: Evening meals -lots of choice and delicious , Debbie and her team

Cons: maybe a bigger more comfy sofa in the cottage!

Amazing vegan restaurant

Amazing all-vegan restaurant located in a fabulous landscape. British owners welcome you in a big garden with a very nice view of the country. All dishes are vegan, homemade. I tasted the chestnut-mushroom steak, “rouleaux de vigne” and mango ice cream, just delicious.

Pros: All vegan, Very nice view in the garden, Very friendly and welcoming owners

Cons: De kerkklok

One of my favorite places on Earth

I worked here for a few months in 2016 and had some of the most amazing experiences of my life. Not only is the food wonderful and most of it grown right outside, the owners and staff are lovely gregarious people who make you feel right at home. I became vegan while working here and never looked back! The surrounding countryside is picturesque and offers so many trails to get lost on without having to actually get lost. In the summer there's plenty of raspberries and blackberries around for picking and friendly people driving through the quaint village, happy to pick you up should you be in need of a ride.

Stayed for one night, having both dinner & breakfast. It was a last minute booking and I was very happy that they had space.

relaxed holiday!

We spent 4 nights and had a lovely relaxed holiday! The highlight was definitely hearing an owl at night :-) Beautiful garden, many cats, quiet and tranquil. Vegan magazines and plenty of touristic brochures. Breakfast was a bit basic, but more than enough. Evening dinner is a la carte, with several vegan options, or dishes that can be veganised. We could choose something different every evening. Nice food, but sometimes heavy on the sauce though. One unfortunate mix up with non-vegan butter, which they apologised for. Pretty basic room, but clean and comfortable enough (not enough wall sockets though). very friendly people!

Pros: Lovely garden, peaceful, cats! , a la carte vegan options, very friendly

Cons: bit basic accomodation

Wonderful place

We just returned from a 3 night stay at La Maison du Vert. The owners and staff were so welcoming, lovely to talk to and made us feel right at home. And the food - just wonderful. We are vegan and almost everything on the menu could be made vegan. Can't wait to return!

Wonderful

We stayed here for a week in the gorgeous cottage in the grounds. It gave us the best of both worlds as we had loads of space for our family of three, the option of cooking our own food but the availability of the restaurant right on our doorstep. Needless to say we ate in the restaurant quite a bit as the food is so good. Loads of vegan options made with very fresh ingredients, some of which are freshly picked from the gardens. Their vegan 'mint choc chip' cocktail is amazing. We had that most nights!!! Their gardens are beautiful with a very large wildlife pond, lots of vegetable plots as well as feature gardens with lawns. It was lovely just to sit in the garden in the evening looking across and out towards the countryside, whilst enjoying a cocktail. The wonderful thing about La Maison du Vert is that the people are so friendly and a lot of the staff were vegan or vegetarian. The owners Debbie and Daniel are really helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be going back. A holiday in nice surroundings where being a vegan doesn't prove a challenge makes for a very pleasant and relaxing break.

Pros: Loads of vegan options, Friendly owners and staff, Beautiful surroundings

Cons: We had to come home!

Beautiful hotel, DELICIOUS food! :)

My boyfriend and I recently stayed at La Maison Du Vert for three nights for my birthday. We have been travelling Europe for a few months and this stay was the absolute highlight of our trip!

I loved going out to the beautiful countryside of Normandy - so green and lush! The property is beautiful with gorgeous gardens and the staff are always so friendly and helpful.

The best part of course, was the food! Every meal we ate was delicious!! If you are vegan don't fear as nearly all the meals can be veganised - true veggie paradise!! The staff even gave me candles in my dessert and sang happy birthday which made my day extra special! I HIGHLY recommend staying here and can't wait to come back!! :)

Thank you Debbie and Daniel and your wonderful staff!!! :)

Pros: EVERYTHING!!!

Cons: Nothing!

Soooo good!

Call here for lunch and were delighted we made the effort to visit. Starters of Thai soup & tempura were followed by an Indian selection and a mushroom & chestnut burger. All so tasty! And then a very lush chocolate dessert. Would happily eat here again!

Pros: Everything was delicious, Generous portions

Tres belle

I have only recently returned from a week at La Maison and I really miss everything about it, from the large, picturesque gardens to the pretty hotel room; the delicious, fresh meals and the rescued animals who share the land.

We wanted a relaxing, quiet holiday in an attractive location and that is what we got. The garden is big and interesting enough to spend considerable time just relaxing in it, sipping a cocktail and enjoying the sunshine and wildlife that visits it. It is also easy and enjoyable to walk or cycle to surrounding villages or the nearest town. There are many public gardens within a reasonable driving distance and the region is full of orchards which makes for green scenery and plenty of cider and Calvados!

The menu is not marked with items that are suitable for vegans but don't let that put you off if you are vegan. Many of the dishes are vegan and the others are readily adapted for you with generosity. Much of the produce comes from the garden and so the freshness is a huge selling point. The restaurant appears to be very popular with the (meat-eating) locals as well as people from further afield. I can particularly recommend the chocolate and apricot pudding - absolutely divine!

The only thing I didn't like (as a wildlife-orientated person) was the resident cats always trying to catch things (sometimes successfully) in a place that is otherwise a haven for creatures. That has always been a personal bugbear of mine though and one that isn't shared by most. On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised to see they allow dogs to stay so it is possible to have a proper family holiday! :)

I hope I will go back one day.

Pros: Beautiful gardens, Peaceful location, Fab for vegans

Highly recommend!

Me and my dog, Bella really enjoyed staying at La Maison du Vert. It was our absolute favorite place. It's hidden in the country side... very positive and magical place. Lovely gardens/property. They have rescued chickens and turkeys. Their home is very comfortable... and the food is amazing! We highly recommend you to stay here!! It was totally worth our time... we will return soon. Very vegan friendly.

Pros: vegan food, amazing gardens, comfortable rooms

Gorgeous setting, great food

A vegetarian B&B with a restaurant attached. The food is absolutely top notch and all freshly prepared. It might seem expemsive but you really do get what you pay for. vegans are well catered for with advance notice. The dessert of caramelised oranges in calvados (I think)was amazing - and I'm not generally a lover of fruit only desserts! The garden and the accommodation is superb too.

Pros: Amazing food, Freshly prepared, Just fantastic

Cons: None

MUST STOP HERE

A vegetarian oasis in the French countryside! Although not vegan, the owners & staff are completely knowledgeable and accommodating with their truly gourmet menu. The guesthouse was well worth the 2 1/2 hour drive out of the planned route, as the accommodations were so comfortable, the owners & staff were so kind & friendly, and the food was the best I had in my 2 weeks in France. Try the homemade drinks and the dishes with all local ingredients. My non-vegetarian companion agreed that this was some of the best food we experienced.

Pros: gourmet vegan food, super staff & owners, beautiful, quaint location

Cons: proximity to other Normandy destinations

A veggie haven in Normandy

This place is amazing. Normandy is a desert for vegans, and La Maison Du Vert is an oasis. I ate here for dinner with my fiance and my parents. We got there early and sat in the beautiful garden and played with one of the cats, Scampi. The food is outstanding. I had a "rosti", which is a big potato pancake with sauce and vegetables on it. My fiance had the Indian thali. For dessert, they made us vegan chocolate fondue with fruit. Everything was delicious, and the English staff are all very friendly. The place was crowded, and almost everyone was speaking English.

It is easy to get lost getting there, though. Make sure you get directions to Ticheville, France. The map we got from Happy Cow wasn't correct. La Maison Du Vert is right across the street from the church in Ticheville. It's a tiny town, so I don't think it's possible to miss it.

Pros: delicious food, cats, friendly staff

Cons: far away

Vegan paradise in a tiny Normandy village

I can't say enough wonderful things about La Maison du Vert. I stayed at the small, family-run inn and had my meals (breakfast and dinner) downstairs in the restaurant. They will do vegan meals if you request in advance, and they are gourmet quality. (See the sample menus on their website, they're to drool over!)Enjoy local apple cider, poiré (alcoholic pear drink), and pommeau (apple brandy drink) with your dinner. The setting is very lush and peaceful and green, and they rescue animals so there are cats, sheep, ducks, geese, turkeys, and chickens to keep you company. The owners are English people who also speak French.

Pros: excellent food, local ingredients, friendly staff
