Loved the Tofu Nway

It was creamy and delicious with the perfect spiciness! Several marked vegan items on the menu. Located perfectly for a night at the theatre.

Pros: Several vegan options , Friendly staff

Cons: Can get very busy- reservations recommended.

Unique culinary experience

I really enjoyed trying new (to me) dishes here which aren't widely served in London. The flakey paratha had a generous, earthy filling. For the uninitiated like me, tofu nway is a rich silken sauce made from split peas rather than soy mixed with rice noodles and topped with - among other delights - seasoned pea protein chunks to replace the traditional chicken. Think Burmese mac and cheese! The savoury lentil chow chow was set off perfectly with sweet chilli jam. The pickled cucumber delivered on the promised chilli 🔥

I like that all the dishes marked V are vegan here - nothing vegetarian!

Lahpet

I've been to this location at least 3x because I am obsessed with Burmese food. I was really spoiled for choice when I lived back home in San Francisco, CA, where there were quite a few Burmese restaurants, so I ate Burmese food very frequently.

Burmese restaurants are typically known for tea leaf salad, but the tea leaf salad at Lahpet is such a HUGE disappointment. I've tried it several times hoping it was just a fluke, but it's not good at all. The other vegan options are OK, but I'm just not blown away by this place. I hope they get their tea leaf salad act together some day...

Amazing Burmese food

First time trying Burmese and loved it! We were able to get a table despite no reservation. The service was great and one waiter was excited to tell us snippets of history with our order choices. Most the small plates (starters) were vegan. We loved the fritters platter and yellow pea paratha - both were so fragrant and flavourful. I also loved the tofu nway but there were a few vegan options! Cocktails are a must too. Can’t wait to try more.

Pros: Friendly service , Flavour!!, Something new
