Love the astrology concept! - Edit
I was very excited to try this restaurant as a vegan and astrology lover vacationing in Italy. The food was as great as I anticipated it would be! It definitely had a home made feel to it. I got the Cancer dish and my husband got the Leo dish, as those are our sun signs. The best part of the meal was the cheese plate appetizer. Some of the best vegan cheese I’ve had.
Read moreAside from the food being amazing the experience was so-so. We arrived at our reservation time, and were told to come back in 30 minutes because they weren’t open yet. I also noticed that it was a special event night where everyone was given their horoscope/ a reading. We didn’t get one, but perhaps it’s because we don’t speak Italian. We did feel like a bit of an after-thought throughout the night but everyone was nice when they did come around. The restaurant is also VERY small, so we were a little packed. Overall, I would recommend if you’re in Florence!

Small disappointment - Edit
Loving the concept of the place and the small cozy interior, but unfortunately this place has some downsides. I've heard that the place is quite expensive, but turns out the prices went even more up in the recent year.
Read moreMain dishes are original, but quite bland, I had trouble finishing my plate because of it. I must agree with another reviewer saying that the food was lukewarm. The owner is a very friendly and nice person which helps the experience quite a lot.
Also: AMAZING dark bread, which is not that common in Tuscany

Overhyped - Edit
The high expectations due to these reviews weren't met.
Read moreYes, the lasagne was nice and the cheesecake I also enjoyed, but it's not out of this world as some presented (I find). Actually the pumpkin side dish was pretty blend and I recognise what somebody else says in here review: the dish was lukewarm and you could here the constant beeping and opening of the microwave. The women managed the kitchen and the service, so I understand that method and am quite fine with it as well under those circumstances. But at least serve the lasagne piping hot 😅. (Maybe it's only like this during the weekdays?)
Also: the walk from the centre in the dark wasn't so pleasant. You have to pass a tunnel underneath the train rail that is dodgy.

Best vegan dinner in Florence - Edit
Le Fate provides a very cozy sit-down dinner environment, with a playful menu based on seasons and the zodiac. From the start, our Italian-speaking host Serenella was very friendly and attentive. The appetizers are a play on the seasons, and we had Summer, which was a quad of sauces with black bread. My wife had ‘Pisces’ which included excellently prepared seitan steak, and I had the ‘Toro’ which was a lentil-based meatloaf with wonderful caramelized carrots and roasted potatoes. We also enjoyed a wonderful bottle of organic vegan Rosa Prosecco, and finished by sharing a tiramisu and coffees.
Read moreI cannot give more praise to this vegan restaurant. Not only is the food excellent, and the setting intimate, but our host goes out of the way to make a magical setting. If you are a vegan in Florence Le Fate is a must visit!

beware of the price - Edit
The food price is almost double what appears on the menu in google maps. Also they will charge you for the cutlery, bread and water. Besides, the place is small and it gets pretty noisy.

Too expensive - Edit
I like the idea of having an all vegan Restaurant with the main dishes named around zodiac signs. The ambiente was nice, food tasted good. However, just like 10 minutes after the food I felt slightly ill. There was a service fee of 2,50€ (not mentioned before). While I guess the food was fresh, it was warmed up via microwave I think (arrived really fast you could hear the typical"bing" when finished). After all I definitely won't agree that this shall be worth 21€ fee.

A must visit in Florence - Edit
Had a wonderful evening here. They made room for me even though I didn’t have a reservation and it was a special night (so busy). Staff are lovely and food is top notch. Delicious starters, mains and desserts. Definitely the best vegan cheesecake I have ever tasted! Chef speaks excellent English. Menu in English can also be provided. Highly recommend.

A fun evening with good food - Edit
The two of us vegans enjoyed our meal very much. Our friend who is not vegan was less sure. One comment that sums up her reluctance was ‘was why call it cheese when it isn’t?’ ‘Why not be honest and call it creamed cashew?’ Anyway we will keep trying to convince her. However the Meal and Wine were good.

Difficult to find but worth the search. Cozy place and maybe to hot inside but the lasagna was amazingly good. Sadly she did not predict my horoscope right 😅. If it’s your thing you can order a nice vegan dish that matches your astrology sign.

Took a bit of figuring out there hours. I did not have a cell plan and only data. Messaging them on instagram worked well. I’ll update the hours on happy cow.
Read moreThey open at 7:30 pm. We were greeted by a very nice lady and promptly seated. Interesting menu how it’s by zodiac signs. I chose the Toro and wife had Cancer dish. My Toro dish had 6-7 items on it. legumes and cheese meatloaf, spiced vegetables, salsa verde and spirulina. This was one of the best meals I’ve had.
And of course I had room for dessert. Well 2 of them😜
Chocolate mousse and cheesecake. Both were creamy and what ever it was made with it was NOT coconut.
They were really good!

Will definitely be back! - Edit
With an entirely vegan menu, it was hard to decide on a main dish, but was pretty happy with the one I selected (Libra). I was especially impressed though with the dessert I picked, a blueberry tiramisu which I could hardly tell was vegan! I will definitely be going back to try the cheesecake!

Cute little bistrot - Edit
My partner and I enjoyed this cute little bistrot during out first night in Florence, run by a very small team and staff. We especially loved the housemade cheesecake with a berry sauce. My partner isn't vegan and said it was the best vegan cheesecske he's tried. Really excellent food and so glad we stopped!

Avoid at all costs - Edit
Sadly a very disappointing experience. None of the food was fresh- everything was microwaved. The lasagne was cold inside. The atmosphere was tense- the owner stood by our table as we ate. The wine wasn’t great - I would take Tesco own brand over it. The bill came to €56 for 2 mains with wine and 1 shared dessert. €17 for a microwaved lasagne is outrageous. I’m really sorry to leave this review as I wanted to support a fully vegan place but it was one of the worst dining experiences we had.
