Spicy ramen in lively Japanese restaurant - Edit
A medium-sized, Japanese restaurant close to Thielenbrücke.
Read moreThey don't take reservations. I went here on a Wednesday at 7:15 pm and had to wait until about 8pm to get a table.
There are five vegan starters, one vegan snack, two vegan ramens and one more vegan main dish (combination of starts and snack).
As starters we had the edamame beans and hijiki, which were both tasty. I preferred the edamame since I prefer salty snacks. For my main dish I had the vegan Tantan ramen. It had 1/3 chilis but for me it was really on the limit of how spicy food can be before it starts being unpleasant. It looked great and tasted well, but I feel like I've had better ramen elsewhere, like in Men Impossible in Amsterdam.
The thing I liked the most was the atmosphere and style of the restaurant. It was full with people and very lively. One downside was that it was very, very loud. Another downside was that the waitresses were very busy. I had to make quite an effort to get their attention to ask for the bill.
All things considered I'm happy to have visited this place but am not in a hurry back. If you're looking for a lively Japanese restaurant with some pretty tasty ramen, then this is a great place for you.
