Options!

There are so many options at little bao boy now. 4 different vegan Baos to choose from, lots of sides, and loaded chips.

The mushroom teriyaki is incredible. The aubergine one delicious. And the tofu bites have a proper kick to them

Pros: Options

Fab vegan selection

A friend living in Leeds recommend this place when we visited him one weekend - and we weren’t disappointed! It was refreshing to have so many vegan options. We tried all of the vegan baos; I think aubergine was my favourite, followed closely by the mushrooms - the mushroom sauce is perhaps a bit sweet for some tastes, I had to leave some behind. We shared some cauliflower bites too. The biscoff bao was also a treat. The drinks board behind the bar was also clearly marked as to the vegan options which was handy. The bar stocks black lines drinks too - I’ve only ever seen these as large bottles for sale in shops so it was nice to see them available to enjoy in a bar setting. Service was quick & friendly. Would 100% return next time we’re in Leeds.

Pros: Decent vegan selection, Drinks menu had vegan options marked, Friendly service

Good choices, quick service

I’ve been here quite a few times and tried different baos. I don’t really rate the tofu one it tastes a bit bland but the salt and pepper aubergine is *chefs kiss*

Really tasty, lots of options

I really enjoyed my food here. I thought that the portion sizes were great for the price, and that there were plenty of vegan options. Will be going back.

Pros: Tasty , Affordable , Wide range of options

Cons: Chef was rude

Company of Brews

So good to come back here, the last time being pre-“pandemic” in March 2020. A popular spot for Leeds United fans. The beer is phenomenal, we had a coffee & choc porter and a pilsner. All beers suitable for vegans are labelled as such. Didn’t have food but checked out the menu and was amazed to see approx 60-70% is vegan. Love this place, possibly my favourite bar in Leeds now, or certainly one of.

Sadly they are in the process of going bankrupt!

Doesn’t surprise me. There was only one person eating at the time and the place was quite busy after a Leeds match

Oh dear!! I’ve just researched and realise you actually meant North Brew Co. going into administration. I thought it was Bao Boy. This is so sad for the city. One of our local craft bars stocks a lot of their beers. Really sad news.

I know! Bit of a surprise but they have maybe over stretched - the latest venture was a bar in Italy. No doubt there will be a take over. Or perhaps the craft ale scene has peaked… cost of living etc.

Lots of choice

Little bao boy had lots of different vegan options to choose from which was exciting.
We got them all except they ran out of the cauliflower one. Each one was delicious but the aubergine one was probably the best!
I wish they had more sauce on them, to fully compliment them but overall they were good.
We also got some salt n pepper chips which just tasted like normal chips - you couldn’t taste the salt n pepper at all.

Pros: Many vegan options , Delicious aubergine bao

Cons: Disappointing salt n pepper chips

I’ve been meaning to try these for awhile, glad you mentioned the aubergine being good - sometimes aubergine can be a little like rubber 😅

Very tasty!

We ordered the crispy tofu, salt & pepper aubergine and gochujang cauliflower bao, as well as the veg gyoza and miso broth with tofu. These were all vegan and delicious! The buns were light and fluffy, the gyoza were crispy and savoury, the fried veg fillings were crispy and light, and the sauces were tasty with a good balance of sweet and spicy. The only thing I'd change would be to add the optional sriracha to the broth when I ordered it as we were too hungry to read the menu properly and that would have been my preference. It was still a nice broth though. :)

Pros: Lots of interesting vegan options, Fried but not stodgy, Staff were nice.

Cons: Based in a hip pub so may not suit all, Could get pricey if you're very hungry, Only one salad/non-fried vegetable option

Bao-dy delicious!

Little bao bun station inside an independent pub. Order your food and sit til your beeper goes off to collect. 4 bao options included panko aubergine, crispy tofu, oyster mushroom and cauliflower.

The bao buns were delicious (we went for the crispy tofu and deep fried aubergine) and the salt and chili fries were an awesome side.

Great vegan options

Really delicious vegan options with 4 bao fillings to choose from. Our faves were the ‘shrimp’ and the tofu bao fillings and the loaded fries but everything was tasty and well-priced.
