I really enjoyed my meal here. I had just arrived in Montreal QC on a long haul flight, and couldn't check into my hotel yet and found this gem just around the corner.

And i was hungry and needing some vegan protein, since the airline food I got was mostly salad.
Their braised tofu with a lovely optional creamy coriander sauce, and cooked with mixed vegetables absolutely hit the spot. It was served with warm fluffy basmati rice.
The tofu serving was substantial, the braising sauce was very tasty, and the tofu was firm and chewy and filled with saucey flavor. The optional coriander creme sauce and fresh limes were a great complement to the braising sauce.
Around me i could see servings of chili, their vegan poutine fries, and the chesesteak come out of the kitchen, and noticed other tables were also complementing their food.
I finished with a tangy lemon tart slice and vegan whipped cream - very nice.
The tables are fairly close together as it's in town center. They've got several two top tables. This was great for me as a lone traveler, as I easily struck up a conversation with the couple sat on the table next to me, and we had a great chat about how good the restaurant was and then everything under the sun.
They were there to celebrate a birthday and the friendly owner who'd come over to talk to them a few times, sent them home with an extra dessert.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience. I plan to go back during my week here and try some other dishes.

Read moreEverything is delicious, but my favorites are the cheesesteak (even better now with the pretzel bread), nachos, and as of recently, the tacos! Love the crispy fried cauliflower (Korean inspired), one of the battle of the chefs recipe. As for the new brunch menu, the pancakes (with & without the added chocolate sauce) are simply the best I’ve ever had!
There is also a cute private room on the top floor. You can book it for events, which I really enjoyed for my birthday celebration.

Un très grand restaurant entièrement végan. Nous avions pris pour le déjeuner la poutine sauce mexicaine, un caviar d’aubergine et un tartare de carottes (en version entrées ce qui suffisait largement pour déjeuner pour 2). Les plats étaient très bons et le service très sympathique pour des prix honnêtes.

Read moreWe were there on a Thursday evening and it was very crowded. We got the food very fast. They gave us maybe 10 more minutes after removing the empty plates, to finish our drinks, before they asked us to pay and leave.

We ordered the curry and the chili, and these were so good that we went there (Place des Arts) to have lunch the next day. For lunch we had the Rosa salad with braised tofu and the poutine. We didn't know what poutine was, but loved this vegan version with mushrooms! Everything was delicious, fresh en beautifully presented. Very (allergy-)friendly staff and atmosphere. When we arrived in Montreal we had the impression that the city was not at all vegan-friendly, but thanks to Lola Rosa we now know better.

My husband and I tried two different burgers: one Cajun burger and one on pretzel bread. They were both delicious. We liked that they were completely different because we love sharing our food. Instead of fries, we ordered poutine on the side.

Not a Philly cheese steak but a great sandwich. Hearty tasting meet, plenty of cheese and the pretzel till have it a unique take. Would order it again. Plenty of food, in the day of shrinkflation. First time having mayo with my fries since I went wfpb. Got salad to go, so I could have brownie for dessert!! Devoured it. Brownie was moist and flavorful. One of the most popular choices , great combination with the ice cream. Glad I did it!

Best Caesar salad ever, vegan or non - Edit
Wasn’t going to bother with a review because everyone can see it’s so good, but this is possibly the best Caesar salad we’ve ever had. Topped with toasted quinoa, balsamic reduction and fried capers among other things. We also thoroughly enjoyed the lasagne and nachos. “Poiscamole” is like guacamole but made from peas so it’s more local.

While I was here for work, I spent nearly every lunch here and brought non-vegan friends who were highly surprised about the amazing quality. If I would live in Montreal, I assume I would come here all the time 👌 also, staff has been friendly and helpful each time. Amazing place!

We got the nachos(small), fried oyster mushrooms, and fatteh. It was a good amount of food for the money and it was tasty. There happened to be a concert on the square in front of the restaurant and we got to enjoy that too.

Such a lovely atmosphere at Lola Rosa and the food is delicious! Our server was charming and it was so hard to choose which of the menu items to try - everything looked so good! I liked the Nachos in particular and my non-vegan friend also really enjoyed her meal. I hope I have an opportunity to return before my time in Montréal is over. ☺️
