I’d read good reviews about Los Mochitos and enjoyed my first visit so much I returned three more times during my week in Oaxaca. Delicious food and run by a wonderful family.

So wonderful we came back the next day and brought our friends! Everything on the menu is vegan and very tasty. We had crunchy chocolate balls for desert. No signage outside so you need to keep your eyes out and look in the doorway. The restaurant is upstairs.

with how I’m travelling and spending my days, I was looking for somewhere to grab something filling when walking, so I haven’t tried the wider meals (which look great!) but I love the lentil burger, especially as it’s difficult to find things like this in México that are made with whole

if I find time I’ll go back and actually sit to order a proper meal as I really like the restaurant itself - open air but shaded, spacious, quiet.
I speak very little Spanish but the guy seemed perfectly friendly😄
it may seem a little out of the way but it’s worth finding so please do. it’s the kind of place that deserves a lot of customers as they seem to be running things right.

Food is inexpensive but the taste is random - Edit
We ordered the pastor tacos(super small), a tlayuda, dish of the day(huitlacoche) and pastor tostadas. The food was fine but nothing with a lot of flavor. I think with the prices you pay is what you get. This place is unexpensive and as a result the food isn’t that great.

The Vegan Terrace - Edit
Kind of hard to get there because there is no sign outside but once you're there just look up and you'll see the terrace fance on the second floor. On Rayon street infront of the tree is a big black door to enter and find the stairs. Totally worth it. (I ran out of battery so couldn't take pics 😕)

We trekked across town for this one, and almost gave up due to lack of signage. Luckily we found it, the menu had variety and service was top notch. All the drinks were phenomenal, as was the pasta, hot dog, and tacos. The Aztec soup was interesting, flavorful, just felt heavy like too many spices. But a solid visit for an exclusive vegan eatery.

Highly recommend the pancakes, molletes, and eggs for breakfast! For lunch we enjoyed the tlayudas with Aztec soup. As vegans we really appreciate that the food is budget-friendly. It is clear they are not trying to take advantage of you with crazy prices. We ate at several other vegan places in Oaxaca and all of them had higher prices for food that wasn’t that good. Very happy we found this place!!! We have gone everyday this week and will go again tomorrow:) Oh and lovely roof terrace full of plants!

I went here with a group and we got a variety of different things for dinner and it was definitely hit and miss.
Read moreI got the tacos and cauliflower wings which were delicious, but a couple of us got the lentil burger which was dry and just completely fell apart as soon as you bite in.
Overall the six of us were a little disappointed with the food, but our total bill was 650 pesos (45 CAN$) which was SO cheap. I’d go back for the tacos (3 for 35 pesos) - giving it 3 ⭐️ for the price and the nice service ❤️

The BBQ sauce they were covered in was delicious. We also had an amazing Oreo frappe each which was like a thick milkshake. The staff are really lovely and friendly. I definitely recommend a visit here. They are open all day and offer breakfast with vegan egg and much more! Would love to come here again 🫶🏼

This is a family owned restaurant that serves food all day. It is extremely good value for money and well worth the walk out of the centre to go to. They offer traditional Mexican dishes that have been veganised as well as burgers and hot dogs.

Excellent Vegan Food in Oaxaca - Edit
This family-run restaurant offers a wide menu of creative and delicious Oaxacan dishes. It is also the least expensive of other places we've tried. The tlayudas are especially recommended for lunch and dinner. The delicious "huevos veganos" (vegan eggs) are made with chic peas, yet offer the texture of scrambled eggs. Served with toast and black beans, it is deservedly the most popular breakfast dish. The dining area is on the second floor.
