True Oaxacan Vegan Cuisine - Edit
Where else can you get not one but two kinds of unquely delicious vegan Moles— one dark one “amarillo” yellow? Anong many other local specialties! Plus: Spacious and comfy rooftop seating in a non-touristy location walkable from El Centro. When I was there mid-afternoon I was the only tourist in the olace — but they were doing a brisk business with the locals. Affordable and memorable Vegan pilgrimage!

Maybe it was the day we went but we were really torn by this place. We ordered the menu of the day and also a tlayuda. The soup for the starter was incredible, and also we had a toasted taco with "pastor" which was also really nice. Unfortunately though this tlayuda wrap wasn't good, it was full of lettuce and had some vegan cheese which tasted like it was old. The main course for the daily menu was mole, this was very strange - perhaps it was just our taste but it looked as if the table next door wernt enjoying either. Also had two water of the day juices which were OK. Maybe we went on an off day, and we would likely return to instead try the hot dog and burger. I should also note it was so cheap, about £7.50 in English money for starter, main, side, another main and two juices

We ordered several dishes and they were all excellent except the fries. They were a bit limp and I like them crispy. They are on a roof deck and it’s nice to be off the street. The portions are on the small side, but so are the prices, so order to share.

This has a surprisingly extensive menu. Great for breakfast and brunches as well as supper. Really enjoyed their soups as well as breakfast items. I’ve made a number of visits before heading out of the city.

One of the best vegan meals I’ve had - Edit
Great place, great view, great vegan food. Operated by a lovely vegan local family. Son has been vegan since 2006. Mix of authentic local dishes and vegan versions of burgers, etc. I opted for the Oaxacan food and enjoyed it very much.

Read moreOaxaca’s historic center tends to be somewhat pricy for food, and almost everywhere vegan food is an additional upcharge. Not at Los Muchitos, though! I say the prices for meals being around 40 to 50 pesos and just assumed they would be more tapas sized, right? Wrong, so wrong.
50 pesos for a good size portion of mole with some rice, nicely spicy salsa, and two fresh tortillas. Easily a meal on its own for $2.50 USD, and it’s tasty! 45 pesos gets you a massive tlayuda that’s also meal sized. The tlayuda was a bit less tasty than the mole, I think the fillings could be spiced a bit more, but the sauce it comes with is so dang good that you’re gonna be smothering it in that anyway.
Staff are pleasant, the menu has English, the decor is cute, the food is local Oaxacan cuisine and 100% vegan, and the prices are way lower than everywhere else. Can’t ask for more!

We enjoyed our food - we ordered tacos, burgers, onion rings and hotdogs. The reason I give 4 stars is because the potatoes were basically raw which was disappointing because I love chips!! Everything else was perfect. Love the cold horchata!!! The venue is based upstairs on a roof which is a nice place to relax.

Really nice family run place. We went there already three times and will go back. Prices are just unbeatable. Tlayudas and cappuccino are really good! Sometimes there are small issues with the food. We had some raw vegetables which were already a bit dry and some not so hot French fries. But overall it's really recommendable!

Best vegan restaurant in Oaxaca - Edit
It's seriously the best vegan restaurant in Oaxaca and so affordable at the same time! We went there several times and everything we tried was delicious. Our favorites were the tacos, tlayudas and the lentil burger. Also the vegan frappes are amazing.

Phenomenal food, great prices, wonderful atmosphere, and excellent staff. I wish I'd had every meal here, this place can't be beat. The women who run it are friendly and kind, the food is fresh and filling, and the prices are wonderful. You can get a starter, main, drink, and dessert here for less than a starter at other restaurants in town.

Small menu but with great all vegan options. I had the menu of the day, a cookie & a drink and it costed me $55 so it’s super cheap., Really small place with only 2 tables so if you’re a big group it may not work but they also do takeaway. Staff really friendly, offered me tasters of things. Will definitely come back and try the other things on the menu 🤙
