Great little find

This place has a number of tasty vegan options. I found the food to be tasty and enjoyed my meal.
It would have been better if we had been given time to eat the starter before the other food was served.
The staff who served us was lovely.
It is conveniently located in Preston market close to the train station. #Veganuary

Pros: A number of vegan dishes , Great staff

Cons: A little more expensive than I thought it would be, Outside toilet, with no hand soap or dryer

3.5 Great options but overpowering sweet sauce

Exciting menu but mixed results. Would try it again and ask for without the sauce (it was overpoweringly sweet) which could potentially bump it up a star

Tasty food

Only about 5 vegan options but they’re all pretty tasty - a little too sweet perhaps but otherwise good.

Pros: Vegan fried chicken, Superfood salad

lovely lunch spot

I recently started working near Preston market and on Wednesdays I get a 1 hour lunch break so have been enjoying exploring the market again after many years. Vegan options abound at many of the food stalls so definitely have a look around. I was very happy to find this cute, cool but cozy little Korean restaurant.

There are probably half a dozen labeled vegan dishes for lunch. The first time I tried V-Dosirak, which was like a Korean bento with rice, a stir-fried tofu, mushroom and edamame dish, soba noodle salad and veggie dumplings. It was fresh and tasty and nice to try a few different dishes without leaving TOO full.

Next time I tried Che Sik, which the menu describes as vegan fried chicken. When it arrived the "chicken" was actually the mock char siew you can buy frozen from many Asian grocery stores. It was served in small, crispy cubes, glazed with a sweet soy sauce. It came with a giant pile of salad with greens, slaw, and edamame that balanced the mock out nicely. Both dishes were served with a rich, creamy vegan mayo.

Staff are friendly and it’s a nice, minimalistically designed place to eat in or outside. Overall, dishes are yum and I'd eat here again but I found the flavours all on the sweet side - none of the pungent, fermented, spicy flavours I love in Korean cuisine.

Pros: convenient location in the market, varied vegan options

Cons: prices a little high, flavours not as complex as I'd hoped
