Closed in Yumbo 😥

This was a great restaurant with lots of vegan options. Unfortunately it is now closed in the Yumbo. They have a new restaurant in Las Palmas, but that’s quite a long distance away.

New menu with lots of vegan options

They have a new menu, lots of vegan options, vegan meats/fish/king prawns.
Also have veg curries, dhal, biryani
Almost half the menu is vegan and the female waitress was very knowledgeable and recommended their new dish with the vegan king prawns which was lovely.
Can choose from 5 spice levels so will suit anyone
Chose hot and it was just right.
The only con is that it was on the more expensive side £15-20 for a main dish, did get a big discount as it was a very quiet time due to covid.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, New menu, Clearly labelled vegan options

Cons: Expensive

The waiters honest happiness made our day

Ironically all other restaurants in this area try to persuade you to their restaurant. But not this place, but once we sat down, a smile lit on the waiters face.
Thank you!

Pros: Very friendly personnel, Delisciously spiced food

Cons: Could update their menu so it's more readable

Friendly staff, good food

We were with three. Two of us enjoyed the meals very much. The third - who eats Indian food more often - thought it could be better.

Super friendly!

Let’s be honest. It was incredibly hard to find this place! The menu is confusing and not particularly well labelled BUT the staff are knowledgeable and ever ready to guide you through it with confidence. The food is good and reasonably priced. One to visit again.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly and knowledgeable staff

Hidden gem in the yumbo

I was pretty nervous about recent my trip to playa del ingles as it was the first time I’d gone since going vegan and I’d read that vegan options were scarce. I needn’t have worried really when there are places like this. The waiter was very helpful and showed me the vegan / veggie section on the menu. I found the menu a little confusing as it seemed a few of the ‘vegan’ options had paneer or other non vegan ingredients included but maybe I read it wrong.. it’s not that important though as the waiter assured me that the food would be 100% vegan and understood what we could and couldn’t eat. I had poppadoms with pickle tray to start (the waiter knew not to bring me the yoghurt) I think they were chilli and coriander flavoured - they were incredible. Never tasted poppadoms like that. Had tardka daal for main - tasted amazing and the presentation was really lovely. Great portions too. Will definitely be back.

Ay dios mío

Today we ordered our dinner to go from this restaurant. They have a wide section of vegetarian food with quite a few vegan options and many more who can be made vegan by asking.
They have a whole printed special "vegan set menu" who you can order with drinks, starters and second plates for a fixed price.
We opted to try three different plates from the vegan menu and I tell you it was SO GOOD. We tried the mixed vegetable curry which is a plate you can find in any indian restaurant, but this was really something out of the ordinary, it was so tasty. We also had a dish with soy meat Veg Chicken Jalfrezi and the Aloo Gabi (a plate with spicey sause, cauliflower and potatao). I fell in love with the soy-meat dish, where the soy-meat itself was sooo yummy. Vegan bread to choose from would be the roti or the chapati, the nan is not vegan. But above all was the tastes of the sauces, rich, creamy, spicey, yummy. If you like indian food I really recommend you this place.

Amazing

There was a full page on the menu of vegetarian dishes and maybe 5 dishes that were vegan or could be made vegan. Also their naan bread is vegan. I ordered something that was like vegan chicken and i loved it. The waiter made clear that there was no dairy no eggs or anything😂 Best indian food i have eaten so far

This small place may not seem to be anything special but the food is amazing! The owners, an older indian couple are the sweetest and very helpfull with the meny. There are a LOT of options for vegans, just ask for help with the menu 😊 I Will definitly come back!

Pros: The food, The Staff and service, Worth the price!

Good taste, chaotic menu

The menu is strange. It labelled a few dishes as vegan, but when we asked the waiter, he said exactly the labelled dishes were not vegan.

The food was good but we had better Indian food before. We were not very confident, that we really got vegan food.

Pros: One of the few restaurants with vegan options

Cons: Expensive, Not competent about veganism

One to avoid (in my opinion)

Poor quality food and fairly poor service to go with it. Many better choices in the area.

My food tasted bad.

Nice staff and fair prices. But my dish was not good at all. Might be something wrong with my dish, since all it tasted was smoke, and my girlfriends dish was OK. Nan bread was ok. Restroom is tiny, and you're almost sitting face to face with the cheff while doing your thing.

Pros: Vegan options labeled. cheap.

Cons: My entire dish tasted bad. Nan bread could been a

Very tasty food

Visited this restaurant twice while on holiday in playa del ingles, and thoroughly enjoyed it both times! In a place where it's very difficult to find anything other than a cheeseless pizza or a dish that omits most of the ingredients to make it vegan, it was refreshing to find somewhere that was knowledgeable about a vegan diet and offered many options and substitutes (soy-based) to cater to that.

The menu offers a separate section for veg starters and mains, both are plentiful in options. Although as mentioned on other reviews the markings for vegan items are very confusing, but once we explained to the owner that we were vegan she was very helpful in explaining what dishes were vegan and which could be made vegan. The nicest thing was how happy she was to help! We were delighted to find that most of the curries could be made vegan on request whether on the veg curry list or not. The starters were delicious, particularly the potato patties topped with chickpeas. For mains, I ordered the mock-meat rogan josh (minus the yoghurt) both times, and it was delicious.

The atmosphere in the restaurant is very welcoming, as much as it can be in a shopping centre, so I wouldn't let that put you off.

Cons: the menu does state that all naan breads are vegan, but while speaking to the owner she did mention that the naan breads were made with egg... slightly confusing when the menu states one thing and we were told another, so I'd avoid the naan breads.

Pros: Lovely food with lots of choices, Wonderful service, Nice atmosphere

Tasty vegan food

Very tasty indian food and several dishes on the menu. But the marks are really a bit confusing. Better to ask the staff. They have mock meat based on soy.
Like every restaurant in the Yumbo Center the atmosphere is not so cosy

Pros: Tasty food, Mock meat

Cons: Not a cosy atmosphere

Awesome Vegan food

We ate three times at this restaurant and the effort they put in serving an amazing Vegan dinner is just great! Owners Asha and Moti are very friendly just like their waitress Alison. We tried the vegan fish, -shrimp, -chicken tikka and everything was just mouthwatering and finger licking good. In a place where it is not easy to find good vegan food I would highly recommend this restaurant. We where there with 5 vegans the last time and we can't wait to go again.

Pros: Vegan fish dish, Vegan shrimp tandoori, Vegan chicken tikka

Cons: none

Nice vegan food

We first tried the other Indian restaurant Zeyka, which has better reviews on tripadvisor but we actually liked the taste of the food at Maharaja better. It tastes of more - our food was pretty delicious actually.

Their menu is really confusing though (one menu was different from the other) and it has so many dishes both vegan and vegetarian that it is confusing to look at. Nice with much to choose from though! :-) They write they have marked the vegan dishes but be aware - when you read through the ingredient listed they are not vegan but vegetarian. We ended up simply explaining to the waiter that we were vegan and she understood immediately and made sure we got our dishes veganized.

Their vegan mock meat is good.

Don't go there for the atmosphere. It's placed in the outdoor mall Yumbo Centre which is not very cosy.

Pros: good taste, much to choose from, serves vegan mock meat

Cons: don't go there for the ambiance
