Staff were so friendly and helpful, spoke amazing English. A huge range of green tea and herbal tea that you can also buy. Really cool decor, almost like being in a cave. I had the Tofu pad thai so delicious!

Beautiful place - Edit
Beautiful place, I happened to be here in 2011, too. Asian food, largely vegan (and clearly labelled). I had the vegetarian set menu with salad, fried tofu, rice, vegetables and Vietnamese spring roll. They don’t take credit cards.

Very intimate restaurant / tearoom - Edit
After coming to Maly Buddha for years we realised whatever in the menu says vegetarian actually means vegan. So they have quite a lot to offer but always double check it is vegan. The meal called "vegetarian menu" for 249 CZK is huge and filling and has everything to try from their veggie offer. Also try the rolls or noodles with veggies, mushrooms or tofu. Everything is tasty. Fried pineapple is amazing too. The place also serves as tearoom with seating on pillows in the back and has a very intimate atmosphere with candlelights only. Great choice of various teas. The staff is friendly.

Go for the Pho - Edit
This place was a welcome find just a few meters down the road from the monastery library. The restaurant is in a cave, so it’s worth heading over just for the location.
Read moreThe rice paper rolls were fresh and moorish, the vegan Pho was a generous serving packed full of veggies. Good Thai and Vietnamese options on the menu.
Pros: Staff speak English, It’s in a cave!!!, Nice choice of vegan Thai and Vietnamese options

Great Food! - Edit
There are a lot of vegan/vegetarian asian style choices there - we had the PadThai that was very good. Staff was helpful and friendly but we ordered for no onions and there were still some in the food. This can happen so it is not a big deal but if you habe an allergy make sure you make that clear when ordering😉Otherwise great and would recommend!

Watch out! - Edit
Food was delicious, no complaints there. The server who waited on our table was kind, buuut another employee dealt with the bill. I had to use a large 2000 kc bill (thanks bank) and in the transaction I lost 200 kc! The bill shows VAT and says it doesn't include a tip, but 200 a pretty hefty tip for a meal that cost 467 (with VAT). The second most expensive vegan item is 209 kc-- we ordered one of these and it was great -- but again, that's a lot to take! Usually I never buy drinks, but we did here. It looked like the sort of restaurant that we'd like to support and it was a bit empty at the time. Now I regret the drinks. Lesson leader though. No more breaking large bills at restaurants...

A hidden gem - Edit
We visited Maly Buddha during our stay in Prague. We were looking for a vegan - friendly place where we could eat with my omni family.

The place is very cosy and their staff is very friendly. We also tried their amazing Vietnamese coffee which was one of the best I have ever tried.
Pros: Delicious food, Generous portions, Friendly staff
Cons: A little too dark.

Super Cozy Cave - Edit
Located near the Strahov monastery, this restaurant is not exclusively vegan, but has lots of vegan options and moreover they know what it is to be vegan so it is an easy conversation if you have questions about a particular dish. The space is kind of like being in a cave, but in a good way, with Buddhas and has a nice zen vibe. The soup I had was ridiculously good as were the spring rolls. Usually a trow away choice, but these were superb. Nice service, good menu options and an enjoyable atmosphere.
