Absolutely fabulous

Visiting Portland with my son and knew we had to come here after reading the reviews. Honestly words cannot describe how incredible our meals were. Every single thing was so delicious. The portion size is generous. Service was friendly and fast. Will most certainly return.

One of the best vegan places in Portland

Consistently Rich, flavorful food with a good amount of spice. I also like that they are a worker-owned co-op and don't take tips.

No wonder it’s a top rated restaurant

My partner and I had been wanting to try this place after seeing all the incredible reviews and we were not disappointed. We had a large shared plate for 2 and it was a lot of food. I loved that we were able to try so many things- it was our first time having Sri Lankan food! We will absolutely be back next time we’re in Portland.

Pros: Presentation, Flavors, Ambiance

Excellent

-cheese filled roti - excellent 9.5/10, was maybe hoping for more of a homemade nut cheese filling, but still tasted so good
-today's plate - great 9.4/10
-deviled chicken - great 8.8/10

Can’t believe it took me so long to eat here

I’ve lived in Portland for three years and can’t believe I’ve never eaten here. We got todays plate and the roti it was amazing. It tasted like the most delicious home cooked meal. The man who helped us was super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great suggestions. Super pleased with the quality of food, swiftness of service and kind employees. It makes all the difference when you come to a place and they are genuinely helpful. Will definitely be back for more!

Pros: Fast service , Delicious food

Heat and Harmony

I had the pleasure of dining at this highly-rated vegan Sri Lankan restaurant that has been making waves online. This walk-up, counter-service gem stood out for its wide variety of vegan Sri Lankan food, knowledgeable servers, and clearly marked gluten-free items, making it a haven for any adventurous eater with dietary restrictions.

My friend and I decided to share "Today's Plate" and each ordered our own roti – I opted for the gluten-free Kurokan Roti, while my friend chose the Pol Roti. Both rotis, delightfully coconutty and served perfectly warm, were the platform for a memorable meal.

Today's Plate, a staple offering, came with a crisp pampadam, daal, yellow rice, and four rotating sides. That day, we were treated to spicy green beans, deviled potatoes, scallion dynamite, and braised curry garlic, complemented by our choice of coconut sambal.

Every bite transported me back to my time in Sri Lanka, I was especially grateful for the gluten-free roti that I had missed out on during my travels. My dining companion couldn't stop raving about the spicy green beans and kept praising my choice of restaurant. I humbly reminded him that the high recommendations on Happy Cow made it an easy decision.

The highlight of my meal was mixing the scallion dynamite, coconut sambal, and daal, then scooping it up with my roti. It was pure bliss – just the right amount of spice, though you can certainly amp it up if you're dining with spice-loving friends or going solo.

This restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in Portland looking to experience the vibrant flavors of Sri Lankan cuisine in a vegan, gluten-free-friendly environment.

Pros: Clearly marked Gluten-free items, Good value - Tip is included in the price, Authentic Sri Lankan Food

Great for a group of friends or family !

Worker owned restaurant offering family style and non family style. We went family style with the eggplant for 2-3 with three of us and had plenty of leftovers. Very reasonably priced. We also got the fish cakes (YUM!) and a the passion fruit soda which was not very sweet at all and very pleasant. Eggplant was the rockstar of the night however. Also, nice outdoor seating area for summer.

Spicy!

Amazing food, some serious heat in the curry. The daily curry for 1-2 is good for 2!

Unique, flavorful, and great value

One of the best restaurants there is. I like eating out when it tastes like something I couldn’t make at home - This place nails that. Some of the most flavorful food I’ve been blessed to taste, and items labeled “spicy” actually have a kick to them.

Couldn’t recommend it enough, anything on the menu.

Pros: Great value, Unique Flavors, Beautiful atmosphere

Cons: None at all.

Amazing dinner

The food here was amazing. Such unique flavors. We shared the family style dinner for 2-3 people and it definitely would have served 3. We took home leftovers. When we didn’t know what one of the dishes was, the man at the counter gave us a sample to try. Absolutely will go back the next time I am in town.

Pros: Amazing food, Unique flavors, Heated outdoor and covered seating

Cons: Limited indoor seating

First time eating Shri Lankan food! Did not disappoint

Was feeling adventurous and not wanting a lot of processed foods. Thought we'd give Mirisata a try. The menu is extensive and can be a little intimidating if you haven't been before. However the combo plates helped give a lot of variety to the different types of foods available. Very happy we chose to give it a try.

Pros: Great new foot experience , Very tasty, Great atmosphere

Very good!

This was a wonderful meal complete with tea and desert. Great little place. You order at the window outside then you can find a seat on the large heated patio or inside the restaurant. Bus your own tables. Everyone was friendly and the food came out quickly. Very flavorful, beautiful, and spicy! I love that they have shareable meals for people like me who want to try a bit of everything. Will definitely be going back!

Amazing!!! Would eat every day!

This food was absolutely excellent. We ordered late and it was delivered quickly. It tasted better than it smelled and it smelled so good. I was worried it wouldn’t be enough but had leftovers. Would recommend to anyone.
