Enough veggie options to make me happy

Good place to go when travelling with omnis who want an authentic sushi meal. The yuba and eggplant sushi were very tasty (though I understand the texture might not appeal to everyone). They also had egg, grilled corn and cucumber sushi while I was there and you could ask the chef to prep something specific if needed.

AVOID!! All food prepared with fish-hands

This place should **NOT** be listed as a vegetarian or vegan option. All “vegetarian” items are made with the same flesh-slimed gloves, knives, and cutting boards as their raw fish and raw HORSE MEAT sushi—therefore every item listed as vegetarian actually has raw meat all over it. Our family of four came here based on its listing in Happy Cow, and despite the sickening smell (the space is tiny and all seating, upstairs and down, is at the counter with a conveyor belt of rotating raw meat dishes) we ordered a few “vegetarian” rolls. Then my 12-year-old son pointed out the chef preparing our veggie rolls on the same cutting boards where they’d just been slicing raw fish and horse meat, wearing the same gloves, using the same knives. My son was so horrified that he became physically ill. My husband popped a couple of rolls into his mouth before we could tell him what we’d just seen; he swallowed them with some difficulty and we paid and left, leaving the rest of our order untouched. Super gross, and put us off eating at anyplace else in Japan that isn’t exclusively vegetarian or vegan.

Cons: “Vegetarian” dishes all contaminated by meat, Smell that permeates the restaurant is sickening, Unhygienic conditions

Fun and filling

My husband really wanted sushi on this trip and Musashi was perfect. I had multiple vegetarian options (the egg was amazing) for me. It was nice to see everything made right there and I enjoyed picking my plates.

Good sushi

Not much veggie on the carousel but you can ask for stuff off the menu. The sweetcorn sushi was particularly good

Great vegan option

They have clearly labeled (in English) vegetable options on the conveyor belt so it’s super easy and convenient for a quick meal. Given how hard it is to find vegan food of any kind in Japan, this was a great find. I see the other reviews complain that the vegetable sushi has little taste because it’s just rice and a veggie, but that’s what vegetable sushi is. Going to a Japanese sushi place and expecting them to make some creative vegan dish for you is like going to McDonald’s and expecting them to make cheese fondue.

Ok if there’s nothing else

They have few options on the menu. Service is very good but vege sushi is nothing special, just rice with a a tiny pieces of vegetables. No flavour at all. The best in my opinion was Inari. I think it was more about the experience of sushi belt restaurant, rather than sushi itself. It’s cheap though, 16€ for two people. Note to more sensitive vegans, smell of fish in the restaurant is quite strong, you will also see in front of you plenty of raw fish and meat.

Has vege options but ehhh

Very easy to find based on address provided.
I went with my Omni partner as we’ve never done a sushi train before. They had inari, corn, eggplant options available on the day. I found the texture of the eggplant unbearable and get the tingles when I think about biting into it.
Not a pleasant environment for a vegan. I found the fish smell very unsettling and seeing “horse meat” on the conveyer belt made me finish my inari as quickly as possible and skedaddle.

Still not sure whether it was horse (🐴) or seahorse, or a fish that has that Japanese translation.

Pros: Inari

Cons: Omni environment , Fish smell very overwhelming

You probably saw horse mackerel, which is in fact a fish.

I’m a few months late but I posted a picture of what it said and it’s definitely raw horse meat.

I stand corrected! A surprising ingredient for sure
