Customer service at Nanita was excellent. The menu is small and sophisticated. I fell for the divine chocolate cookie with strawberry jelly and the Oaxacan hot chocolate with coconut milk. The pumpkin ice cream with coconut milk and granola was also a revelation. I furthermore had their burrito for takeaway, which unfortunately was too salty.

Their cheddar “cheese” is amazing and creamy. I ordered a chocolate French toast dish the second time, and I don’t even like chocolate, it just looked so good and it definitely didn’t disappoint!

Nanita is one of the most delicious places to get healthy vegan comfort food in all of Oaxaca City. I live nearby and eat here at least twice a week. The burrito is amazing (really, everything is) and so are their strawberry kiss cookies.

We're a fanita - Edit
Debated 4 or 5 stars on this one - short menu with a preponderance of heavy dishes, and they didn't have any BBQ when we went. But the burrito and cookie were delicious and the service was great; it's the best vegan place we've been to in Oaxaca (though not very stiff competition).

You can‘t miss the incredible food in this hidden spot! The owners are absolutely adorable and know how to let magic happen to the flavors. We had one of the best burrito experiences in all of Mexico.

On our first day at Aoxaca City my husband and I found Nanita on happy cow. We gave it a try and we were amazed by the food. Very tasty healthy and full of flavor. We went back on Monday but they were closed. We did not know they close on Mondays so we could not try other items in the menu. If you are in Oaxaca city we highly recommend checking them out.

Hi there! We really enjoyed talking with you and we were looking forward to seeing you again on Monday. Unfortunately our staff tested positive for Dengue that Sunday. We posted a sign out front and posted on social media so our guests would know why we weren’t open as well as putting our hours on Google to closed. We have been closed since then as Dengue is incredibly serious and unfortunately a lot of Oaxacans are coming down with it. Today is our first day reopening. Hope our paths cross again in the future. Take care and thank you for the review!

Friendly greeting from the moment we entered by Eduardo, co-owner. And Drew the chef. High praise for the Grilled Breakfast Burrito. My partner also enjoyed his Quinoa Salad packed with goodness. Fantastic Oaxacan coffee! We just moved to MX and this will definitely be my go-to place!

Lovely Find in Oaxaca - Edit
So grateful the entire menu is vegan! The breakfast burrito was super flavorful. The hibiscus limeade hit the spot on a hot day. And who doesn’t like hot Oaxacan chocolate cookie straight from the oven.. #DDME YES!

Delish and filling - Edit
So good! This cafe has outstanding vegan food which left us full and satisifed. Everything is homemade, even the hot sauce. A simple menu with quality flavours and ingredients. We had the burrito and mac and cheese, I would highly recommend both. The Oaxacan chocolate latte was delish too. The beautiful couple that own Nanita were very sweet and welcoming which was a cherry on top. Great experience overall.

just the refreshment I needed! - Edit
This seems a wonderful little place, bit unfortunately I didn’t have time for a meal. on a super hot day I saw I was close and went just to get some ice cream to cool down. They had some kind of coconut turmeric icecream made in-house and it was delicious! exactly what I needed, with a little granola and a really nice cookie.
Read morethe ice cream had the absolute perfect amount of gurkmeja to give it that vibrant flavour without it getting too strong, plus it was good to know I was gettin the precious anti-oxidants :)
the people there were really friendly and I kind of felt bad for not ordering more. the menu looked like a nice change and if I go back through the city I will for sure go back to Nanita and sit down for an actual meal.
also bonus points: their takeaway stuff is all biodegradable so you don’t need to feel so bad about waste if youneed a grab-and-go like I did.
Pros: friendly staff, delicious ice cream, superb cookie!

Obsessed - Edit
Some of the best food and service I’ve had in Oaxaca. I got the mac & cheese with chili and the iced tea, then I got the molletes and hibiscus drink my second visit. Oh, the coffee and cookies were both worth writing home about too. I wish I could try their entire menu, which rotates for the season! Brought my son home the waffles and had to take a few bites myself. Loved chatting with the owners about their story and concept too. Highly recommend.

Forgive me, but after travelling Mexico for three weeks, my husband and I were looking for something other than Mexican food. We found Nanita via Happy Cow and were so glad we did! A very cute space with wonderful, filling, hearty and totally reasonably priced food. The owners were delightful to chat to as well. I had the Mac n cheese and my husband had the torta — yum!

Small menu but everything we tried was delicious. The flavours were lovely and the guys who run Nanita are so friendly. My partner tried a latte the first time we went and it’s the only thing he didn’t like. We got there shortly after opening though so the machine might not have been dialled in.
