Not vegan friendly

I consider this place no more vegan friendly than any other random restaurant in Zurich. They have zero marked vegan options on the menu and if you want something vegan you either have to modify something on the menu or, at lunch time, go off menu completely ("we can make you some rice and vegetables"). Even if the food is good - if nothing is officially declared vegan I have problems trusting that everyone involved has the necessary know how about all ingredients.

I suggest you instead reward the 100% vegetarian Indian restaurant Masala at nearby Stauffacher, which has very good vegan declarations, or maybe Vulkan across the tracks with five marked vegan main dishes.

Authentic Sri-Lankan Food

We came for dinner to this small restaurant in the heart of Kreis 4 in Zurich.

A tiny place so upfront reservations via phone are recommended.

All service personnel was very friendly and helpful.

Food was freshly prepared and with excellent taste - authentic Sri-Lankan food and drinks prepared by a group of Tamils.

Delicious vegan vegetable curries

The food is very delicous at Neelas, the ambience is relaxed and familar, the people know exactly what vegans want to eat.

I'm usually there for lunch on a weekday and there are two vegan choices besides the regular menu:
Menu 1 or vegetable currys with rice.

Most I love their dal and their spinach curry. When I'm really hungry I even get a second helping of dal :)

Menu prices for lunch are very moderate for Zurich.

In March 2022 they moved to a bigger and rather nice location at Kanonengasse.

P.S.
When you're lucky, you see the cook thanks the gods.
P.P.S.
Most of the vegetarian menus they offer in a vegan version.
