We had a hard time finding Nonno’s. For future patrons…. it is downstairs in the market. We were so hoping to try it but a sign said they were closed until some time in October. Next time.

Tiny vegan butcher shop in an indoor market. Good counter service. Only a couple tables to sit. They were out of everything but chicken and pastrami. My chicken parm was fantastic but didn't have the deli slice that normally comes on it. Everyone else in my group had subs made with the pastrami. One non vegan person somehow didn't realize it was vegan and was shocked when he found out halfway through his reuban. Lol they all were impressed.

Best Sub and Deli you will find. - Edit
I have been to my fair share of Vegan Deli's and none have been better than this place. Co-founders Celina and Kerry were so warm and friendly, they made the experience welcoming amongst the busyness they juggled so well. Me and my friend ordered the Classico subs and the medley of meats were tasty and well shaved without the usual texture issues of Vegan cold cuts. It REALLY matched the quality, taste and texture of animal flesh. Despite the wealth of Vegan treasures here in Hamilton (Better than Toronto) this is where you need to start (as they open early) before you tour the other places (Coven, Hearty Hooligan, Rise Above).

A wide variety of sandwiches, and deli meats sold separately. They are so flavourful and taste exactly like animal products. The chicken parm sandwich was by far the best. The pricing is extremely reasonable.

Reminds me of shaved deli meat from my pre-vegan life. Love that it's thinly sliced instead of thick slices.
Read moreMy partner who's not vegan, but eats plant based 99% of the time, said if he didn't know this was vegan he wouldn't be able to tell that it wasn't meat.
I showed pics online to my in-laws and they were amazed (they're new to my persistent vegan advocacy as we live in BC, and they're in Ontario).
I can't wait to come back next time I'm in town, and I'm hoping to send my dad here before he goes back to Kingston. I travel a lot and am constantly seeking out new-to-me vegan food. This is great and I want to share it with all my pre-vegan people
Pros: delicious, familiar flavours for non-vegans, not deep-fried

You Won’t Forgettaboutit!! - Edit
Stopped at Nonno’s on a trip to the Hamilton Market, and were blown away by the quality of their vegan deli meats. Great texture, perfectly seasoned, and just perfect as centerpieces for their deli sandwiches. I had the Forgettaboutit…..and trust me, I won’t! This was a beautiful combination of vegan pastrami & mozzarella with loads of toppings on a fresh & tasty Italian sub roll. If I lived in Hamilton, Nonno’s would very quickly become a regular take out spot for me. Highly recommend!
