Cute and Quaint

Nourish is a nice place to go when visiting Victoria with a group of people who have mixed eating restrictions. They have gluten free, vegetarian, dairy free, and vegan options, while still serving some meat options (like breakfast sausage and bacon). The food was delicious and beautiful. Everything was great, the servers are nice and the victorian style house is cute too!

Good Cafe if going with a non-Vegan

I was seated in the front area by the bay window and it was lovely. I ordered the vegan Smoked Tofu Muffuletta Sandwich (but I added bacon -not vegan) it came with a side salad of mixed greens (not the store bought kind -nicer than that) in a light vinaigrette and also ordered a fresh made green juice (Kale, spinach, apple and pear juice). The server was casual and nice, the front of the cafe was relaxed the back was busy and louder.

There were little cars on the table with some pretty deep questions maybe for thought or conversation, not sure but it was a unique detail.

Awesome vegan brunch options!

First timers to Nourish, hubby and I just had a stellar vegan breakfast! I had the Benny, swapping the standard poached eggs for excellent crumbled tempeh—perfect and very light! The rest of the dish is vegan with cashew hollandaise, greens, kale, on a yam base. Hubby had the smoked tofu muffaletta and gives thumbs up. Ada a piece of buckwheat toast with cashew whip…. So good! I don’t know about dinner, but we thoroughly recommend nourish! They are friendly and flexible! Local veggies in summer.

Excellent vittles right off the ferry

We had the vegan Benedict and the vegan tartine and both were impeccable. Delicate cashew hollandaise, delicious tempeh and vegetables, indulgent old world sourdough toast on the tartine… all in a rustic Victorian house with a lovely English garden wrapping around it. Fantastic service and cute little conversation prompt cards on the tables too! A

Great vegan option

I have been here twice and can't wiat to go back. The first time was for supper and the second for brunch.

For brunch I had the Smoked Tofu Muffaletta Sandwich (smoked tofu on Wildfire sourdough, olive tapenade, vegan dijon aioli, sauerkraut, pickled onions, greens, served with soup or salad. The soup was creamy squash. It was very good.

The dinner, I ordered separate plates. Marinated eggplant (so good), turnip and roasted squash.

Easy Vegan Options

I asked the wait staff how to veganize a brunch menu item, and they had the details ready to go! Delicious and thoughtful menu, and wonderful ambience.

Pros: Great vegan options

Cons: Limited vegan options.

Fresh, tasty, satisfying

We are vegans and this certainly met our needs. The menu had many choices for us and for those who have mixed crowd food wise there were other options also. Like the title says it was very tasty insufficient.

Pros: Lots Vegan options, Lovely outside patio , Helpful friendly staff

Eating from the garden in the garden!

We sat outside right in the garden where the ingredients came from. Fresh, aromatic cocktails and food. Great environment and service!

Nourishing 🌿💕

Had a wonderful experience at Nourish this afternoon. The staff was super friendly, the house clean and very victoria, (tho it was freezing and no heat was on), and the food was simple yet delicious and nourishing. We had the tempeh benny’s and the tartine, all very simple quality ingredients, and the pumpkin cheesecake was the best vegan cheesecake I have ever had. The velvet hot chocolate was also really nice for warming me while we waited for our food. I highly recommend this resto! 🙃

Beautiful location

This heritage house is a lovely venue for the restaurant and coffee shop. The vegan offerings, though not many, are very good. The plating is beautiful and the atmosphere is really nice.

Update Oct 29/20
More vegan options, lots of COVID 19 safeguards in place, all the desserts were vegan too.

Not a lot of vegan options but good

Not a ton of vegan options but the ones I've tried are great. I love the crackers, sauerkraut and cashew cheese plate and a latte. I want to come back to try the benny. I did expect more vegan options though than what they have which is pretty limited. Its always insanely busy here on the weekends, particularly in tourist season, so expect up to an hour wait.

Amazing “benny”

Nourish is filled with lovely people and a great atmosphere. They have plenty of Vegan options, and everything is made whole heartedly. I have the Vegan eggs benny which were far from classic. They used sweet potato instead of bread, loaded up the kale, and subbed crumbled tempeh for eggs. It was AMAZING! Oh, and a cashew holly to top it off.
Definitely a very veg conscious place.

Pros: Lots of vegan option, Wholesome , Made with love

Unique Vegan Options

Came here for lunch and tried the vegan Eggs Benedict as well as a green salad. The Eggs Benedict was interesting - it was composed of roasted sweet potato rounds topped with sautéed kale, onions, and mushrooms, lentils, and cashew hollandaise sauce (no bread and no egg substitute). It wasn't quite what might be expected for Eggs Benedict, but the flavours were amazing; it was definitely good. The menu was also more meat-heavy than what I'd usually choose (they have bone broth on their drinks menu, for example), but over all the experience was nice, the service was friendly, and it was pleasant sitting outside on their patio. I wouldn't hurry back but I would recommend it for those it might suit.
- Update: I've deducted a star from my previous review because I had a very sub-par second experience here. They don't reservations from brunch, which is fine, but we were told a table could be held for us (a party of 7) if we called ahead in the morning. I did this, but unfortunately there seemed to be some kind of communication issue as there was no table and no note of the request when we arrived. We ended up just having coffee on the patio instead, which was fine, but definitely a shame and not an ideal service experience.

Could (& should) be better

Considering the type of restaurant this is, you would expect more vegan options. Their cashew cheese is excellent but there's only one or two vegan options at any one time.

There's also posters about bone broth everywhere.

The staff kinda suck too, they are neither polite nor timely.

Pros: Set in a beautiful heritage house, Cashew cheese is awesome, Dandelion lattes are great

Cons: Lack of vegan options, Signs about Bone Broth everywhere, Staff are bordering on rude

refreshing place to visit

We popped in to see if they had vegan options and they had several. The staff were super friendly and the "eggs" Benedict made with lentils was really fun and different. We'll be back.

Pros: nice atmosphere , friendly people, different food than the typical

beautiful location

The cafe is inside the beautiful horticultural gardens. Vegan options were light, pretty much fancy raw salads, but tasty and probably fine for lunch if you're not super hungry.

Eat well – eat here

This café deserves another review since the only other one was posted way back in 2012. We were there for lunch last weekend, after a tour of the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific, to which the café is attached. The menu takes its cue from the gardens as it carries out its vision of helping people ‘eat healthier’. Even though it was our first time there, it is obviously a popular spot since it was constantly full all the time we were there.
We shared “Beet around the bush”, which is sort of a sandwich, but that word doesn’t do it justice. It came with a bowl of leek and potato soup, which we were surprised to find was not creamy, just filled with lots of chopped leeks and big chunks of potato. Menu items are noted as being vegan, dairy free or gluten free, meaning we didn’t have to ask – how lovely. The menu is available on the café website, so check it out before you go – and then be prepared to have a delicious and healthy meal.

Pros: delicious healthy food, creative menu, horticultural centre views

Country Gem for Gluton Free

We didn't expect to eat on the patio on Sept 30, but there we were. The patio is positioned so that it takes advantage of the midday sun.
The food today was a choice of breakfast and lunch being Sunday. Eggs Benny was excellent and the chicken stew was amazing. The desserts were all tempting, but the ice cream sandwiches won out, and were a highlight (not your corner store ice cream sandwich!). Our daughter needs gluton free and she was catered to 100% with some of the best gluton free bread she had ever tasted. One of the ice cream sandwiches was gluton free (coconut) It was busy and the service was not as orderly and timely as one might normally demand, but we weren't in a rush and the afternoon was so nice, it wasn't a factor. Its year three of this establishments existence and this winter is the first time they will remain open for fall winter service. Breakfast and lunches only at the moment. Its now on our top ten list for weekend breakfast and lunch.
Gluton free no longer means comprised taste!

Pros: friendly staff, excellent food, close to city but very country

Cons: meals served 10 minutes apart, indoor dining area is limited, kitchen production rate is slow
