Intimate and Cozy

I love eating here, the room is lit with candles and feels so intimate. The vegetarian platters are great for sharing and the falafel is so yummy. It's the perfect place for a date.

I wish there were more vegan and GF options. Please keep adding to the menu.

Pros: Intimate dining room , Great Falafel , Great service

Cons: Needs more Gluten-free & Vegan options

Authentic atmosphere

Not knowing this place was downstairs and on the very corner caused me to miss it so hopefully you won’t do that now. It’s really warm in there so don’t worry about being cold. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was great. The menu is very clearly labeled. If you’re really hungry the veggie sampler comes out super fast. I recommend making a reservation online so you don’t have to sit at the cramped bar.

Always A Great Meal

Lovely spot to order and share! Favorites include Muhammara, Baba Ghanouj, Hummus, Najib’s Special, Garden Falafel and Mjadra. The Vegetarian (all vegan) Mezze Sampler is a good way to try a bit of everything. Gluten free options available. A super busy spot, reservations recommended.

Great food!

A real gem. I came with a large group so they only had share plate options for us. They were able to make everything that was vegetarian be dairy free.

Not good enough

I usually try and only eat at vegan restaurants but today I was meeting a friend and they chose the Nuba that is of Main - on 3rd Avenue.
I had one of their specialities - a roasted cauliflower. They provided lettuce leaves as a substitute for the pots bread since I stay away from gluten. That was considerate of them.
It was not very tasty. It also want very warm.
Anyway serves me right.
I would not spend any more of my money in this food establishment since there are other places that does vegan better... And I get to support my community.

The worst Nuba

I love Nuba - but this location was a miss.
I ordered the mushroom lunch plate.
I love the one in Yaletown where I was more than once before
I double checked with staff cause I did not want cilantro
The plate arrived and the whole mushrooms where covered in a green sauce - with cilantro. I told the staff and she took it away. I got a new dish then and it came without avocado (even though it’s on the menu) she explained that they’re out but she will discount it from the bill. The potatoes were undercooked nearly raw and way to big pieces. The other location has them quite small and crunchy!
When I got the bill - it was still full price and she explained that it’s because they added more veg instead of the avocado and seemed a bit annoyed. But why did she say it’s gonna be discounted in the first place after bringing the food?
Anyway - this location probably needs some better staff training and not only staff but also the food is amazing in Yaletown so I will continue eating there!

Pros: Location

Cons: Dark - basement, Service , Quality of food

Variety of med vegan choices

I had tabbouleh, garden falafel, cauliflower and baklava and I ate it all. Everything was super tasty. They substituted romaine for the cucumbers I ordered but it was still good.

Updated from previous review on 2022-08-02

Pros: Vegan baklava! , Make a whole meal of a variety of options, Packaged nicely for takeout. Separate sauce cups.

Cons: I spent $60 for a meal for 1 person , Thin pitas were hard to eat with falafel inside.

Very good Middle Eastern Lebanese food

Again I give places that serve meet no more than 3 stars so keep that in mind. Nuba is great. Not the best Middle Eastern I’ve had but plenty of clearly labeled vegan options, a notable local and Lebanese wine list and handsome serving sizes for the table to share.

It’s ok

Ordered the “dinner plate for two” and it came with tzatziki that isn’t vegan so beware. Pita bread was hard /stale but besides that the food was delicious.

Pros: Vegan marked options

Cons: Tzatziki isn’t vegan, Service around 4pm very slow

Variety of vegan options, but just a bit disappointing

It's great how many different dishes they offer, but everything I tried is just a bit too dry and flavorless... Far from the best Lebanese I tried. Good to have an option for a nice enough work lunch downtown though!

Pros: Variety

Cons: The food is quite dry, Not much flavor

Meh

We went on a Sat night so it was crowded and loud. Got take out. Overall not impressed- hummus was good but pita didn’t seem fresh and baba ganoush tasted terrible- like a sweet flavor. Asked for no pickled cabbage but they still included it. Not worth $20.

Pros: Hummus is good

Cons: Expensive , Small portions for price , Busy and loud

delicious! make a reservation!

It too ok two tries to get in to Nuba but it was worth it. The sampler for two is more than enough and can be done vegan without the feta cheese and yogurt sauce. Everything was delicious.

Pros: they know what vegan means

Cons: a little pricey, you might not get in without a reservation and you

My Comfort Food Spot

This was my first spot that made me fall in love with Lebanese and vegan food. This location in particular is my favourite, the staff are super nice, and I love the atmosphere. It’s spaced out and cozy. If you love sangria, their sangria is a must. I’ve tried everything vegan off their menu - you honestly cannot go wrong, I highly recommend doing their full dining experience and getting a bit of everything.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Shareable dinner plates, amazing for dates, Not overly expensive

Cons: Long wait for a table

Great food and culture

The great food and culture of Nuba is apparent from the moment you walk through the door. It's next to impossible to look around at other patrons and see someone NOT enjoying their meal. They do offer non-veg options for those friends who absolutely insist that they "need meat to survive", which is nice so you don't have to sacrifice your friendship or a delicious meal. You can have the best of both worlds at Nuba. The variety of options on the menu is a wonderful touch because not every vegan/vegetarian enjoys eating salad.

Pros: great selection, cozy ambiance, authentic food

Cons: a little pricey, hours

Crazy for Cauli

I've been to Nuba a few times now, and there are some dishes I love so much, I haven't yet tried all the veg items on the menu. The Najib's Special consists of crispy cauliflower - so flavourful! The Mjadra is also top on my list. Lentils definitely ftw. The Gastown location is really pretty during the day. It has a great little alcove towards the back, perfect for intimate groups.

Tasty vegetarian lebanese food!

I came here with a friend just after New Year - first time at a lebanese restaurant and was curious about the vegan and vegetarian options myself being a veg and my friend a meat eater. Both of us enjoyed our meals and dessert - simply delicious! Very attentative service by staff, lovely atmosphere - will definitely be back if I'm in the city again!

Great Lebanese food!

Love it so much I had my birthday dinner here.

It's my go to with some of my omni friends when we can't find something that we all can agree on.

When I go with my mom we always get the Feast for Two, that samples everything vegan (minus the feta) on the menu. The Najib's special is always a part of my heart.

Pros: Great Food, Friendly

very good

Took my bf and mum here for lunch, and the food and was very good. I had the vegan falafel plate, which was very flavourful. My favourite meal is what my mum ordered. It was the vegan lentil plate, and it was amazing. Will definitely go back in the future :)

Great vegan options

Delicious vegan options in a Omni Lebanese restaurant. Menu is marked with vegetarian items, as well as vegan items. We split a bunch of vegan menu items like red lentil soup, falafel plate, special cauliflower dish and an entree that was similar to gnochi, with mushrooms, tomatoes and asparagus. All dishes were delicious, and my non-veg friend agreed. They even have a vegan dessert item, but we were too full to even try it!

Pros: Delicious, Friendly staff, Variety of vegan choices

Fantastic!

Ate here for dinner, our first time for this type of cuisine. Vegan options are marked, even wine... which is very rare for us to find this out of a store!

Food was absolutely delicious. Staff was very friendly, and the restaurant was quite pretty.

Location is so-so. It's close to Gas Town, so if you're wanting to be in that area it's fine... but not the nicest area of Vancouver and it showed.

Pros: Great food, Friendly staff, Well marked vegan food

Cons: Location is close to sketchy area

Excellent Food and Atmosphere!

I recently went here with a vegetarian and two Omni friends, and we were all very satisfied with the food we ate. As others have said, the cauliflower is a must-try, as it's super good! Their baba ganouj and falafel are delicious, and their baklava plate (vegan!) was small, but well received. I would give Nuba five stars if HC allowed! :)

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Flavourful and colourful , Satisfying

Falafel Plate Is Really Goooooood!

Ate here for the first time today and boy do they have good falafel! The price is pretty reasonable for the portion you get compared to other vegan friendly places I've been.

Nice ambience and pretty friendly staff apart from 1-2 waitresses who didn't seem too happy.

Overall I really liked it! Definitely recommend it.

Pros: Good Ambience, Affordable
