Top notch, great for vegans - Edit

Read moreDecided to dip in after a reading a positive review on here and was delighted with the whole experience. We opted for small plates this time to try out some flavours. Sushi came in v generous portions and was very finely made, quite exceptional tbh. Spring onion cakes are the stodge hit I needed at teatime. Sticky rice dumplings are a mouthwatering oily treat but not too heavy (definitely going back for them!). OH is still talking about the salt and pepper tofu, absolutely perfect apparently. What else did we have? More sushi because it was so good! There will be a next time, because we want try the noodle bowls, so many to choose. Nicely positioned between diner and restaurant vibe so we didn't feel underdressed going straight after work. Mentioned vegan on arrival and the staff went through everything on the menu with us and pointed out that most of menu can be veganised, everything brought to the table, the staff reiterated was definitely vegan, nice to have that reassurance.

The side streets that you slip down - Edit
A very well established establishment on a back road near Newcastle’s Chinatown. The vegan menu is extensive. We ordered everything to come together. The glutinous rice dumplings were a revelation. My spicy ramen was loaded with mushrooms and noodles. Delicious, but could have been spicier. The tofu and vegetables on pan fried noodles was the stand out dish. Succulent tofu enriched with flavour. Glad to return here after an eleven year hiatus.

Amazing Asian Delights - Edit
The food and service was amazing when we visited recently. We shared the glutinous rice dumplings, a vegan chicken curry with rice and the spicy shimeji mushrooms and black fungus with ramen noodles.
Read moreThe curry was perfectly spiced, with such depth of flavour and the vegan chicken was the best I've tasted for a long time, whilst the dumplings were delicious. It was the Spicy shimeji mushrooms and black fungus with ramen noodles dish that was my favourite though. Great fresh flavours, great spicing and perfectly cooked ingredient; truly amazing.
The separate vegetarian menu also has lots of other great choices and I can't wait to visit again.
Pros: Great food , Great choice, Great service and staff

Thinking of going here this weekend. Haven’t been since 2012 when there were much less vegan options of course
