Think this is quite authentic! - Edit
It doesn't feel like it's run by a mock meat company! It feels like another Supreme Master TV cult place! But the food can't be faulted. Order on a tablet at the table. I got the tteok-bokki as needed to try it when in Korea! It was very spicy and I had to leave the last few, but it was good and I'm sure it was authentic. I also got fried kimchi dumplings and the fried egg and they were both very, very good - highly recommend those. It's served with free sides of pickled cabbage and kimchi. I think if I go again I'd try the chicken.

Great traditional Korean food veganized - Edit
I had the spicy tofu stew and the kimchi mandu. You get some side dishes and white rice with your main. The stew was very good and not so spicy. The mandu were mind blowing, so good! Very much recommend this restaurant 💕🥟

Excellent traditional foods - Edit
I’ve visited 오세계향 twice: once in July 2022 and again in March 2023. It is in a lovely little alley in the Insadong neighborhood and the food was delicious both times. The atmosphere was more special in 2022 due to having floor seating on cushions at low tables and they had a huge multi-page menu.
Read moreIf you’re going solely for the food: YUM! Lots of traditional options like tteokbokki, banchan, soups, and non traditional but delicious items like salads. Everything I’ve ordered here was delicious. We even brought friends and our Korean family here, all non-vegans, and they loved it as well.
I would give it 5 stars except for three things: the removal of the traditional floor seating/cushions, the additional of an electronic menu, and the way the worker—who seemed to be in charge—treats customers in 2023. The atmosphere wasn’t as special when they replaced their original seating with typical tables and chairs. And they still offer a large selection of menu items but it was much harder to navigate with their electronic menu than it was by using the previous multi-page book. But most disturbing was the worker’s behavior/attitude. My immediate family doesn’t speak Korean but our extended Korean family obviously does and they translated some of the not-so-nice things the woman was saying about some of the (other non-Korean) patrons. That makes me hesitant to return without someone who speaks Korean as I don’t like rudeness in any form. It makes me not want to patronize the restaurant again, sadly. I will probably be swayed by other family members but it made me feel weird that she would be rude to people when she thinks they don’t understand what she is saying.

Traditional Korean food and all vegan - Edit
Exactly what we were looking for, a range of traditional (vegan) Korean food dishes. We tried some classics like bip bim bap and kimchi, plus some new ones in the mix. All was great and interesting! Recommended. Friendly staff and fast service.

One of the best Korean vegan restaurants - Edit
One of the very good Korean vegan restaurants in Seoul. Food is always of good quality. Good ambience. Good location in the heart of Insadong. They speak very little English, so communication can be a slight issue.

Go to for solid vegan options, come hungry - Edit
You order from your table via a little screen. Love the dumplings and the orange chicken. Had the same thing there twice. But there are several other great options. Worth it. Near a fun commercial walk street so nice getting there. Also vegan ice cream place next door for a sweet option after dinner. Restaurant also sells some take out vegan meats that are yummy, if you are traveling to an island that may have limited vegan options.

Read moreThe only drawback is how COLD the air conditioning in the restaurant is! It was uncomfortable, and resulted in my food cooling so rapidly that I had to accept eating half of it like it’d just come out of a fridge. Even so, they were some of the best leftovers ever!

Loved it - Edit
This was my favourite spot during my seoul visit, all the food was just amazing and i went back twice. I was especially impressed by the fried “chicken” as i have never tried any meat alternative that was so crunchy and tasted genuine, I love that you can order on a screen by your table and the older lady who serves the food is very sweet, I would come back to korea just for this place

Best vegan spot for Korean food ! - Edit
I have known Osegyehan for many years, but just came back in Korea for traveling and still never disappointed. You have pretty much all the basic Korean food veganised. You order now with ipads, and the seats are not on the floor anymore but the Western way. I recommend for vegans to stay in Insadong when travelling in Seoul. I used to go almost every day to eat, you can pick a different dish each time. Even if you eat alone, they give you a lot of side dishes 반찬. I really like that. The vegan fried egg is really good ! Recommend it.

A huge selection of traditional dishes at a great price. Ended up sampling quite a bit of the menu 😅 The mandu were really delicious, also really enjoyed the fried chicken. Probably wouldn’t order the bibimbap or nurunji guk again, but they were okay.
