Some of the best vegan food I’ve had in Portugal! - Edit
Outro Lado was incredible! They veganize Portuguese specialties and do a bangin job of it. We started with a pitcher of the red sangria, a must try, and the Francesinha as a main course. The flavors were to die for, and the vegan egg on top was incredibly eggy! It also came with circular French fries and a mouth-watering aioli dip. All in all an incredible experience that I will be dreaming about for many moons. FYI that the food is freshly cooked, so it may take 30 minutes to be served… but it is well worth the wait! Make a reservation too, to be safe

Best vegan restaurant - Edit
I had the honor to eat at Outro Lado a few months ago on holiday. The food was AMAZING. The best food I’ve ever had. We came back a few evenings in a row. The staff, owner and his wife that worked as a chef all took care of us in such a friendly and warm way. Can not get better. I recommend to always do starters and main course. Don’t miss this!

Never had this experience before. Really very interesting options. The "egg" was amazing. Incredible to recreate Portuguese dishes the vegan way because as as foreigners we wouldn't otherwise try local food. Felt like we had a dining out experience. The owner is very hospitable and tells you how the dishes are made. Compliments to the chef. Please book.

Read moreMeine Erwartungen an das Essen waren aufgrund der Bewertungen extrem hoch. Das Essen war gut, es mangelte für mich nur an Kleinigkeiten. Als Vorspeise hatte ich Fish from the garden (grüne Bohnen im Teigmantel frittiert mit Majo). Interessante Idee. Fischig war das Ganze nicht, aber das ist ok. Leider waren sowohl die Bohnen als auch die Majo kaum gewürzt, etwas Salz in der Majo hätte das Ganze für mich perfekt gemacht. Als Hauptgericht hatte ich Francesinha - quasi Toast mit Tofu, Seitan und veganem Käse in würziger Tomstensoße. Das war sehr gut und mal was anderes. Das vegane Spiegelei darauf ist ein nettes optisches Plus - geschmacklich hätte ich es nicht gebraucht. Das Beerenmouse zum Dessert war ok.
Wenn ich meine überhöhten Erwartungen ausblenden, kann ich guten Gewissens 5 Sterne vergeben.

lovely little place (i would definitely recommend booking!) with a great traditional menu and wonderful friendly service. We had the octopus salad which wasn’t my taste but my partner loved, really salty seafood taste. for mains, i had the fried fish with tomato rice and my partner had the fish stew. Both incredible and hearty meals, full of flavour and really warming and tasty. we shared the fig mousse pudding for dessert which was very sweet but light. Really amazing restaurant!
