Alright - Edit
Decentlt good vegetarian options but if you're vegan like me there aren't many choices. THE TEMPEH CONTAINS EGG. I was coming here for months eating what I thought was vegan sushi but was only recently informed it wasn't. Really dissapointing as most the sauces for the sushi contain non vegan ingredients to so it's not very flaborful.

Too much of a hassle - Edit
Was very surprised about the high-star reviews for a sushi grill, so decided to give it a chance.
Read moreWell, I cannot comment on the quality of the food, since I left instead of ordering. There are a few vegetarian rolls on the menu, although I am not sure at all if they are even really vegetarian or with fish sauce/bonito flakes like everything else, but whatever. Tempura appetiser was $14, so I instead asked about the agedashi tofu without bonito flakes, of course the sauce also contains fish. Did not feel like going through the process of asking about every single item. Also the person who had the miso soup, that one I can basically guarantee is with fish.
Cons: Not vegan-friendly

Always Happy - Edit
Last time we were there I had Asian Green Salad, rice, and steamed vegetables... Was delicious! Had a Jalapeno Daisy (vodka, jalapeno, just sauce) - now one of my favorites. #Veganuary

More vegan sushi options, please! - Edit
I wouldn't say this place is necessarily welcoming to vegans because some of their rolls contain sauces that are not vegan. Just double check with your server. They can atleast make it vegan with modifications. From my brief search, Brookings doesnt have many exciting things to offer in the way of vegan-fare, but at least we were able to enjoy some nice veg rolls and miso soup. More vegan items of the menu would be greatly appreciated by your customers! Vegans would like to feel considered and welcome too! Thanks!!

Delicious - Edit
Great options. Was able to get a cucumber roll for my son for $4 (wasn’t on the menu). They are great with accommodating custom requests, I got the Tree Hugger and it was excellent.

Good Vegan Sushi - Edit
Most vegan options in a sushi joint that we have been too. All vegetarian rolls can be made vegan by request. Budget friendly (5 rolls plus miso drinks and rice ran 50$)

Something for everyone - Edit
Traveling, my friends and I searched for dining options that we'd all enjoy-- a pescatarian lesbian, a carnivorous cowboy and an atheist vegetarian (me).
Read moreThey had several veg/vegan options so I was content; what I was told was that the fresh fish was delicious for my pescatarian friend and a steak dinner or burger for our cowboy.
Long story short, everyone in our group was very satisfied. I'd eat here at least once a week if I lived in the area. I loved the tempura veggies and my nature nugget roll, which I added cream cheese to. My pescatarian friend loved her Redwood roll and the carnivore enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger. Service was friendly and attentive. Our drinks never went empty and the sushi chefs answered all of our questions (we sat at the sushi bar).
Being new to happycow.net I am disappointed that I can't rate this restaurant a 5 because they're only "veg friendly". They definitely deserve a much higher rating than I'm allowed to give.
Pros: options for everyone, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices
Cons: not in my home town :(, closed at 9pm sunday-thursday, this site won't allow me 2 rate this place a 5

Excellent food and service! - Edit
Cozy and comfortable. The food is very tasty and the service is efficient and friendly. Cool that vegan rolls are marked right on the menu -- they are delicious and filling. Also loved their seaweed salad.
