Had het niet verwacht maar er stonden wel een paar vegan panzerotti's op het menu, zowel al forno als fritto. Ik had die met ui, tomaat en olijf en was geweldig.

Read moreThere are two vegan options, the tomato/onion/olive and the vegetarian (mixed vegetables) panzerotti. Both are available in the same dough, either fried or baked, both cost the same (3 euros) and are delicious! Fried is definitely the traditional choice if you want that true experience! The dough is soft and the fillings don't have an excessively strong flavour.
I'd recommend at least two as a meal depending on how hungry you are! One is definitely not a meal, and with two you can try both flavours ;).
Pros: 3 euros each is a good price for traditional food!, Central location, The queues run smoothly so not too much waiting!

I certainly wouldn't be happy if I had to wait in line for any amount of time for this. We were there at almost 7pm so there was no line. They had sold out of the fried luini so we got the baked luini with vegetables.
Read moreThere was not much filling, but the bread was fluffy. The filling was unexciting, just eggplant and capsicum, with no seasoning/marinade. Also, I very much dislike capsicum so I didn't enjoy this very much.

The place was pretty packed but they didnt seem to have any allergies info on the labels. I asked the server and she said she didnt have anything vegan, but was then corrected by the colleague beside her who said there was the veggie panzerotti. It might just be my preference but I really didnt like it - there was so much dough for not much filling and the filling was just straight up veggies, like a wet sandwich. I dont think it is my thing, I didnt finish it which is very unusual for me

Negli anni passati ero stata qui per accompagnare degli amici e non mi pare ci fossero panzerotti vegani. L'ultima volta invece ho letto sul menù esposto un'opzione vegana e sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa. Però il pomodoro non c'era anche se sul menù era scritto... Vabè viva i panzerotti vegani!

I had the onion, tomato & olive which was absolutely delicious (even though I don't love olives!!) There was a bit of a queue but the service is very quick so didn't wait long - however this also means the staff are not very friendly. I asked if they had any sweet vegan options and got a very quick/abrupt "no." But for a quick, to-go snack of something traditional & delicious I'm not mad.

Panzerotti Luini - Edit
OMG, I'm so glad I tried this place. I had the olive, tomato, onion fried luini and fell in love. The flavor was excellent and the bread was fluffy and had a touch of salt on the outside. The olives really sealed the deal...the pomodoro was delicious. Very happy to be able to try a traditional Italian food!

Very famous place in city centre. Perfect for a quick bite and cheap. They have a couple of vegan options like the description says. If you want pizza, Spontini is around the corner with a vegan option. Also a great deal for a quick bite.

The only vegan option was a plain, regular focaccia, which was cold and not fresh.
Read moreI was surprised, because it seemed like there were options without cheese, but two different staff members insisted everything but the focaccia contained milk. Seems nice for vegetarians, but I definitely don't recommend for vegans.

I was so glad I could try these baked goods! They are crispy, fluffy and tasty and were stuffed with grilled vegetables. Normally, they offer more vegan options but many were already gone. They just sell whats behind the counter.

Milano Experience for Vegans - Edit
They offer vegan foccace and panzerotti fritti. It's not labeled as vegan, but the panzerotti fritti with onion, olive and tomatoes is vegan. I tried it and it was pretty good. The restaurant is extremely popular in the area and is definitely worth a try if you're in the area. I asked if anything was vegan and they were able to immediately help me.
