Must visit! - Edit
Note: others here said you might need a reservation. I was here twice and walked by a few times. It was never busy at all. Even on the weekend. Maybe you need a reservation only if you want to come with a group of 4 or more.
Read moreFantastic restaurant serving mostly Japanese/Korean cuisine. A bit pricey (especially the drinks) for local standards but well worth it. I had the jjajang rice, a dish I ate many times before and with a small twist of their own, Plant A Seed really made a great version out of it. I was happy to see they serve it with rice as I’m not a noodle eater, especially with jjajang sauce.. it’s just a messy idea. Serving it with rice is much preferred. They even have Korean radish as a side (my favourite).
Came back to have their 7-course meal (~€13). It was very good and delicious but it literally is a 7-course meal, you will get a full main dish, a side dish, 3 appetizers, miso soup, 2 drinks and dessert. You don’t get smaller dishes just because you order the 7-course deal. So if you go for that option (and it’s great so you should consider!), better come hungry😄

Creative vegan ‘egg’ and Japanese/Korean food - Edit
Back here after around one year to try the sold out items :’)
Read more🌟🍋🍜 Yuzu Kosho Ramen (RM28 / $9)
Super umami and savoury yuzu & black pepper pistachio mylk broth with roasted golden oyster mushrooms, marinated king oyster mushroom slices, fresh alfalfa sprouts, crunchy julienned black fungus, vegan tofu ‘egg’ white, ‘egg yolk’ made of pumpkin puree and a touch of black salt for that eggy taste, and a side of daikon pickle and salad with sweet vegan mayo. Love the broth and creative ‘egg’!
🌶️🍜 PAS Spicy Ramen (RM19 / S$6.15)
Broth of a customisable spiciness level; the staff can provide varying amounts of bird’s eye chilli. Comes with crunchy julienned black fungus.
🍵🍰 Matcha Chocolate Cake (RM18 / S$5.80)
Good old school chocolate cake sponge taste and texture, and lots of cream with very subtle matcha notes~

Good ramen, big menu - Edit
This is a solid restaurant. We came right when it opened and within less than an hour it was completely full. Seems to get busy often but they accept reservations. The ramen and fried tempeh were awesome. The sushi was pretty good too.

Loved it - Edit
This was the first vegan restaurant I went to in George Town and I loved it. They were very accommodating given I arrived just before lunch closing. I got a tofu ramen and it was very good. I was quite tempted to go back but ran out of time.

Delicious Plant Based Food - Edit
Comprehensive menu covering all tastes and the staff are helpful & knowledgeable. Advised us appropriate number of dishes and heat level which can be adjusted to taste. My partner loves chilli, I don't. Dishes were delicious. Can't fault anything and will go again while we are in Penang. Restaurant was busy but we got in. We will probably book next time.

Incredible food, a 5 star dining experience - Edit
This was hands down the best food we’ve eaten in Malaysia. The sushi was fresh and tasty, portions of all dishes were extremely generous. We had edamame, tempura enoki, rainbow maki, drinks, ramen and a dessert and it cost us less than 100rm. An absolute bargain considering the quality of the food and the fantastic service.

Delicious Japanese cuisine - Edit
Came here twice and it was amazing both times ❤️ first time we got kimchi jjiggae, poke bowl, tempeh pieces and kaffel drinks. Second time we got seaweed fried rice, all in one large sushi set (16pcs), popcorn mushroom and kaffels. Everything was super tasty! I believe this is the same chain as Kusa in Kuala Lumpur.

Nothing to fault, some of the best food I’ve ever had. Not cheap by local standards, but spent ~£12 for one person and was more than enough food. Highly recommended.
