My favorite vegan Thai food

I was reminded to hop onto HappyCow and post about Plumeria, because I was telling my friend that if she eats anywhere in Encinitas, she should go to Plumeria. It's literally the best Thai I've ever had, and everyone's super nice.

Average

This place is okay. I usually get the spicy noodle. You can ask for a spice level higher than what is in the menu.

overall, there is nothing special about the food but it is good.

Keep going back

I love all the veggies in the Tom Yum soup. No matter we order have to start with their soup. Tonight we tried the eggplant sauté with rice and was perfect. Sauce was point on. My favorite noodle dish is pad Thai. Lots of wonderful vegan dishes.

Delicious food, friendly server

I got the spicy basil with faux chicken and brown rice. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the veggies were steamed just right. Plus, the sauce was delicious. My three companions also loved their dishes. The best part was the server, who was super friendly and helpful. And we’re pretty sure he was wearing a Guy Fieri wig and visor, which is hilarious!

Pros: Tons of options, Great service, Excellent food

Delicious Thai

We've ordered takeout from here 3 times and it's always delicious. I highly recommend it. Tip: the Flower Cups are not the best item for takeout.

Falls short

Ordered spicy noodles for $19. This is way up there for Thai food. The food was oily and didn’t taste that good. Won’t be ordering there again.

Cons: Pricey , Low quality oily food

Super filling and vegan desserts!

The appetizer was light and wasnt crunchy as i expected but came with 2 different sauces, one tasted like mango and the other was creamier and nutty. If it wasnt for the sauces, i probably wouldnt order again

They ran out of the vegan duck i was going to order but the green curry i ordered was freaking awesome, i loved the heart shaped rice 🤍🤍 it was a TON of food even though it looks small... i usually eat a lot in one sitting but this was definitely more than i normally eat. I would order this again

The dessert was sooooo good i would come back for this absolutely, crunchy wrapper with sweet agave and warm soft banana on inside 🤤 #Veganuary

Heavenly

The food here is sooo good! Even my non-vegan friend got fooled by the chickn pad Thai. She was so continued it was real chicken. Service is lacking but the food warms the soul.

Delicious Vegan Thai Options

We ordered fresh spring rolls, the Tom Yum soup, and Panang curry. Everything was super tasty, the staff was friendly, and the food was ready quickly. Highly recommend if you are in the Encinitas area.

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly staff, Almost everything is vegan

Cons: You can choose to add egg to some dishes

Best Thai outside of Thailand

I had heard there were several vegetarian Thai restaurants in San Diego so I am eager to try them all. Plumeria is my favorite. Unusual and different Thai dishes make it exciting and the standar dishes are exceptional. I enjoyed the spicy noodles, the broccoli stir fry and a bean sprout and mushroom dish. A must visit place for sure.

Pros: Lots of options, Great food., Cute atmosphere outside.

Really great vegan Thai food! If you’re adventurous, try the vegan duck as your protein choice - you can thank me later.

Best Thai in SD!

Love this place... service is great, presentation is beautiful and the food is so delicious! So much flavor! The satay chicken is soooooo good!! It seems the only thing that’s keeping it from being fully vegan is that they serve eggs but their staff are very knowledgeable with everything that’s vegan!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, So much flavor, They take reservations

That review (Best Thai in SD!) is just TOO WEIRD for Happy Cow. "loved the chicken"? (which isn't vegan chicken). Be warned, Plumeria is NOT a vegan restaurant, so don't get the satay chicken! That said, their Vegan marked dishes are surprisingly good, flavorful, and numerous - a really good Vegan choice in Encinitas.

It actually is fully vegan, they have stopped serving eggs and the satay “chicken” is vegan

Great

My Pumpkin Curry was wonderful, and I usually don't love Pumpkin Curries. I was recommended to try it by the enthusiastic waiter, and he was spot on (He recommend I get it with the mock chicken - that was a good call as well). Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff.

Great variety, all delicious

Great to eat Thai food without having to ask about fish in sauces, etc. The appetizer platter is excellent and perfect for two, lots of variety. Pad See Iw and a few other dishes are clearly marked as having egg, which can be omitted; otherwise everything is vegan (except desserts; some but not all are vegan). Everything we had was delicious and we'll be back to work our way through the menu!

Pros: Park free under the former Whole Foods

The Restaurant Encinitas needed!

I was beyond excited when Plumeria expanded up to Encinitas. The food is always full of flavor! If a dish on the menu isn’t already vegan, it’s just a quick adaption. Non veg friends and family are fans as well and can’t believe how tasty it is. It’s amazing to have a Thai place in downtown Encinitas, especially because it is so GOOD!!

Pros: Easily made Vegan, Variety of dishes, So much flavor!

Cons: Not all vegan

Good

This is the sister to plumeria, I tried the larb it was similar but i feel plumeria is still better. Although plum had a larger portion of larb. Prices are comparable to plumeria. Dishes are $$, I would say around $10 for a plate.

Pros: Vegan

Cons: Busy area, not much parking available

Excellent Thai food

I’m so happy Plum is in encinitas. The entire menu is vegetarian and tons of different dishes to choose from. The vegetable yellow curry is delicious. Fresh spring rolls were amazing. Spicy basil vegetable fried rice was delicious too. Great service and cute place.

Pros: All vegetarian and vegan options, Fresh ingredients
