Good latte - Edit
I basically chugged this latte after an early morning flight but it went down sooo smooth. Their lait maison is coco-almond and is really sweet and so fire in a latte, texture is spot on. Plant milk is 50c extra and there are some vegan baked goods as well.

Nice quiet café with a good selection of vegan pastries. The lemon poppy seed is my favorite!

Very nice coffee! - Edit
I tried the chai latte with home made milk (almond and coconut) : it was very good. I also ate the lemon-poppy seeds cake which was incredibly good but unfortunately not vegan (I think). However, they were vegan options : almond-lemon cake, scones etc.
Read moreThe place is nice but a bit small maybe. But in the early morning there was not much people staying over so it was chill.
Pros: Excellent vegan chai latte and vegetarian cake, Nice little coffee

Nothing but love for this place. Quite simply... awesome! - Edit
As a lone traveller who's considering hanging around, this funky, quaint espresso bar is one of those gems that makes me wanna stay. I've only been here a couple of weeks and I'm already a regular. Furthermore, I'm kindly considered as such but the lovely staff. They knew my order within days. And now we're on first name terms which, when flying solo, is very welcome indeed.
Read moreTheir coffee/house-milk combo (coconut + almond) is as good as any vegan livener I've had anywhere... worldwide. If not the best! I'm a flat white drinker. I like it strong but creamy. And they seriously deliver here at Pourquoi Pas!
They also cater to a sweet tooth - vegan style - with truly delicious cakes and pastries. Gone are the days of feeling hard done by when choosing to omit dairy from my diet.
Other strings to their bow – in my opinion – is their choice of background music. Chilled and funky, in keeping with the décor. They sell a bunch of self-brewing devices and coffees, should you wanna become a barista at home or on the road. And they'll happily share their local knowledge on all things vegan around Montreal.
Pros: Great vegan "house" milk and coffee, Lovely staff with local vegan knowledge, Funky, tasteful place to chill and indulge
Cons: Er... I'm gonna struggle finding cons..., It'd be nice if they were open all night ;-), They don't have a branch in my kitchen at home

Amazing coffee - Edit
This coffee shop offers great coffee with soy milk or a mix of almond and coconut milk. For cow milk, you have to pay extra.

Fantastic Coffee - Edit
While I was staying in Montreal my hotel was not too far away from Pourquoi Pas Espresso Bar, just two blocks. I loved that they were open early and so we could get our coffee fix in before exploring the city.
Read moreThe coffee was really fantastic, and the beans they use are good quality. Each morning there was a choice between two different kinds of beans, and I ended up trying the Costa Rica, and the Ethiopian, while my husband had the Colombian.
The coffee was really good, strong but not overly so and it didn't need any sweetener. I first ordered a Latte, and next a mocha and each one was made with attention to detail and you could see the love put into each cup.
We also tried several of the doughnuts which were excellent. Maybe not the best vegan doughnuts i've ever had but they get extra points for creative and amazing flavors such as Pina Colada. We also tried the chocolate doughnut, and the cinnamon doughnut and each was delicious.
I know that whenever I visit Montreal this will be my morning coffee place. The atmosphere is great, and the people were friendly too which makes it all the better.
Pros: Great Coffee, and Desserts , Fair Prices , Friendly Staff
