Expected, but really delicious

Amazing Ethiopian food. Honestly, it tasted the same as any other Ethiopian restaurant we visited, but that isn't a bad thing. We loved the injera!

We shared a vegan combo plate and had the housemade lemonade and it was SOOO GOOOD.
We really recommend this place, it's also so cute and the staff is very friendly, if we're back in amsterdam we'll defintily go back

The best Ethiopian restaurant

The restaurant serves both meat and vegan options which is great when meeting with friends who don’t have the same diet.

The food was incredible, and spiced really nicely leaving a little heat in the mouth. My friend said the same about theirs: the meat option.
And the service was great, the owner / waitress was friendly and accommodating to our requests (tasting platter for one - the menu specifies for two).

I would 100% recommend this place to everyone!
Great food, welcoming service and reasonably priced.

As good as it gets

Best Ethiopian food I could find in Amsterdam.
Gluten free (100% teff) Injera is sometimes available spontaneously but better call them 1 day before so they can prepare it.
Take-away is possible (pic)
Also, the owners are great people.

Lovely restaurant with friendly owners

I never had Ethiopian dinner before so I went in with a completely blank slate. I had a vegan lentil soup as a starter. The soup was well-balanced and had a smooth texture. The dinner was off to a great start. The main course was the vegan combo which presents a large variety of small dishes to be eaten with injera bread (no better way to get to know the Ethiopian kitchen right?). I was surprised by the taste and texture of the injera bread: it has a pancake-like form and texture but it is more spongy due to the fermenting process it is put through when it’s made. It has a light sour taste which combined well with the dishes on offer. Everything was good: it was never too spicy or salty. For dessert we had the herbal tea. It had a rich spicy flavour somewhat reminding me of Indian chai tea albeit with a stronger clove flavour: I thoroughly enjoyed this tea and hope to make it myself at home some time soon. The friendly owners, cozy atmosphere, and strong vegan options make this a great place to eat if you’re with a mixed-diet group but also simply as a vegan who is curious to try a new kitchen. 😊 (Unfortunately, HappyCow does not allow me to give a 5/5 rating since the place is not completely vegan.)

Pros: Rich well balanced food, Friendly owners, Cozy atmosphere

Hearty and delicious Ethiopian

If you like Ethiopian food, or if you are feeling hungry, Queen of Sheba will certainly fill that hole.
There is a good selection of mouth-watering vegan curries, from lentils to spinach to pumpkin, all served on the Ethiopian delicacy injera, a fermented type of bread.
The staff are friendly and very happy to accommodate vegans.
The vegan sharing plate for 2 is highly recommended...just make sure you arrive hungry!

Pros: Amazing if you like Ethiopian, You won't leave hungry

Ethiopian vegan options in Westerpark

This restaurant is located in a side street in the Westerpark area. The owner and staff are relaxed and friendly and eager to answer all the questions you might have. They serve the typical Ethiopian plate of Injera on top of which they layer lots of preparations with vegetables, chickpeas and lentils to be eaten with your hands. It was delicious and not too expensive. I also had a coconut beer served in a coconut shell.
