Exceptional quality food - Edit
If you visit Barcelona, indulge yourself and go to this restaurant. They offer a monthly varying menu with exciting options. Their three-course dinner consists of a starter, a main, and a dessert. For each course, one can choose between about five options. They also offer snacks and select natural wines. Everything that we had among two shared menus and a few extra snacks was amazing! Their ingredients are organic, sourced locally, and flavourful. Naturally, staff was nice and attentive. Booking a table is recommended.

Delicious interesting dishes - Edit
I'm someone who normally goes for cheap and cheerful, so it was very exciting to have a more elevated vegan experience here. While we were disappointed to find out they no longer do a tasting menu, sharing each of our 3 dishes adding an extra side made us feel like it was a tasting menu anyway! The food was delicious and clever, and each of the dishes was interesting and gave us a lot to talk about. The staff were friendly, and our waiter was very helpful.
Read moreIt was so nice to have vegan food that wasn't trying to hide that it was vegetables, but embracing it. Our favourite two dishes were the marinated watermelon tacos and the aubergine (!!) french toast dessert. The maitake mushroom tempura was a bit plain for our taste, especially compared to the excitement of the rest of the meal, but everything overall was so thought out and delicious. Even the water tasted great! A must-visit if you want a delicious, slightly more upmarket experience.
Pros: Inventive and delicious, Good atmosphere, Friendly staff

Vegetarians Must Come Here!! - Edit
Don't miss this place. It was our last meal in Spain and did not disappoint. All vegan, set menu, but they give you the option of either one appetizer, one main and one dessert, or two appetizers and one main if you don't want dessert. We opted for one of each, so my husband and I shared 3 apps, 2 mains, and one dessert. They also have "snacks and bread" that will cost extra but totally worth it. We got olives as "an extra", then shared this fantastic ajoblanco (almond, oil and garlic soup) with nectarines, tacos of marinated watermelon, cabbage and capers and the padron peppers. My husband had the silver beet and potato curry with chickpeas and sticky rice and I had the white aubergine with miso, tolosa beans, figs and walnuts. My god, everyone....please go to this place. They gave us an amuse bouche to start and everything we ate was fabulous. I think the aubergine main dish was one of the best things I have ever eaten....and I have eaten a lot in my life. We had an interesting dessert that was french toast of aubergine sponge with its marmalade and a local (Paral-lelo) gelato place's vegan pistachio ice cream. The eggplant elements on their own were a bit strange and savory for a dessert and we weren't sure what we thought-until we ate the elements all together and it became sweet and more dessert-like. Unique and delicious. That combined with the fantastic and friendly servers, the chill vibe...would go back in a heartbeat!

Amazing flavors. Sometimes slightly too experimental for my tastes but all very well executed. I’d recommend getting some bread to start so you’re not left feeling hungry at the end

Incredible. - Edit
I've been to Rasoterra twice now and it's been an incredible experience both times - I'm not sure why this place isn't spoken about more.
Read moreThe first time I visited, I took a risk on bringing my tasting menu-loving, meat-eating parents to try the fully vegan tasting menu.
Every dish was explained to us in detail and we loved every bite, including the final chocolate wasabi truffle which we were all a little sceptical about on hearing about it. My father said he could have licked the plates at the end of each course and my mother enjoyed foods she wouldn't usually be keen on.
The second time I visited was with my sister and we just ordered a few dishes from the menu. I will say some didn't impress as much as those during my first visit, but we were both blown away by the ajo blanco soup. It's something neither of us would ever really consider ordering, but we took a risk with it and it certainly paid off.
Both times I've visited, the staff were so knowledgeable and friendly, and the prices are extremely reasonable.
I always, always recommend Rasoterra to friends or people visiting Barcelona for a cosy dining experience, trying local foods and unique combinations.
Pros: Excellent, local food, Reasonable prices , Friendly staff

I don’t know why this place isn’t on the ‘best restaurants in Barcelona’ list, we had a fantastic meal here. With 5 of us we had almost everything on the menu, and our waiter helped us choose the best options to share.
Read moreMy highlights were the fennel salad (beautifully fresh and balanced), the pumpkin curry (underwhelming presentation compared to the other dishes but rich and utterly delicious), the baked rice (chewy texture and rich, umami flavour) and the wasabi truffles (enough wasabi to give a real punch but not too much to overwhelm the chocolate).
The courgette dessert didn’t quite work for me—it was a bit too savoury and didn’t really come together as a whole dish—but that didn’t mar what was otherwise a top-notch meal.
The natural wine we had was also delicious (and I’m not a fan of wine).

We found Rasoterra on Happy Cow when looking for some lunch, and went in without a booking (though we encourage you to book because we got the last table). Two of us got the full meal, so we’re able to sample much of the menu. Every bite was delicious, and the servers were great.

Excellent vegan fine dining! - Edit
It's amazing to find a restaurant that offers a vegan fine dining experience, as it's a bit rare. The food itself is excellent, refined and of very high quality, yet the atmosphere is interestingly very relaxed and unassuming which I think is great. The menu offered is refreshingly creative and changes seasonally to remain sustainable and as local as possible.
Read moreYou get to choose from a three course menu, and all plates presented seemed elaborate and delicious. I went for more traditional cuisine as I wanted to taste something typical of the region. The appetizer was a nice touch, and the croquettes, cauliflower and mushroom plates were all excellent. As a main course, I chose the almond tempeh which blew my mind. My partner chose the rice dish with mushroom and it was phenomenal.
Service was great. Staff was attentive and explained all the plates thoroughly. The decor was cool, relaxed and lovely. The prices are higher, but definitely worth the bursting flavors and creativity.
Pros: Central location and cozy atmosphere, Authentic and interesting dishes, Excellent flavors
