It's alright

I'm a big fan of Thai curries and I'm always glad to see there are vegan versions without fish sauce in the recipe but I don't think it made the list of my 10 favourite places to eat a green curry. It was okay but not super tasty. I'd also say it's pretty overpriced considering you have to get the rice separately. The tofu tasted sour, which wasn't a nice surprise and the summer rolls were very bland. I think Rosa's is great for when you're in Westfield and you want to eat something in the food court, but if you're up for a restaurant visit, I would look elsewhere.

We also ordered Lemony Lemonade thinking that it would be homemade but it was a small can of lemonade for over £3.

Pros: Lots of vegan options

Cons: Overpriced , Not very flavourful

Worth a try…

We visited the Greenwich branch. There were plenty of vegan options on the menu and the food was quite nice. Was quite expensive for a curry and rice though

Pros: Plenty of vegan options on the menu

Cons: On the expensive side

Edible but you’ll get better food elsewhere

I actually went to the Rosa’s Thai near Tower Bridge not Brixton but I’ve also been a couple of times over the years to the branch in Carnaby Street which also doesn’t seem to be on HC either.

My friend chose the restaurant this evening and to be honest I just wanted to get it off the list. RT were advertising their vegan menu and even won an award for how vegan friendly they were so I thought I’d give them another try. Maybe they have improved but it’s the same old RT to me.

The food just isn’t memorable. You’ll eat it and it’s ok but you won’t be blown away and won’t want to come back for more.

The food is quite bland and lacks flavour. For people who struggle with spicy food and like very simple flavours this is the place for you but there are some many better places to get Thai and South East Asian food. My advice, if you’re vegan and you want a vegan friendly South Asian food chain - go to Pho. Food is 10 times better and better value for money as well.

I ordered the Fresh Summer Rolls. These lacked taste and the dipping sauce was too sweet. Pho do the same item but the rolls are filled with fresh herbs which make them super tasty and the peanut dipping sauce is thick and you can actually taste peanuts. This dipping sauce was more like sweet chilli Thai sauce with peanuts floating on the top,

The curry was slightly cold and lacked some flavour and the coconut rice only had a faint hue of coconut. I like my coconut rice quite coconutty.

Must Try!!

The best vegan takeaway of Asian cuisine that I have had in a long time. Rosa’s partnership with everyone’s favourite faux bacon brand, THIS Is, has transformed their food to the next level. I had the vegan pad Thai and a vegan chicken and pineapple curry 🤤 My goodness it was to die for! I must say that am not usually a big fan of faux chicken but this one had the texture and flavour that I miss very much since becoming vegan.

We also ordered a tofu panang and tofu massaman curry which were very delicious and the tofu was cooked perfectly!

We did not order any sides as the four curries (between two of us) totalled at £48 (12 each) delivery and service. However we did over order due to indecisiveness and next time I am excited to try the sweet corn fritters and some coconut rice!

Pros: All your favourite Thai dishes served vegan, Nicely packaged, highly sanitary

Cons: Expensive (for a takeaway) , Possibly on the smaller size of portions

Salty & protein deficient

I can deal with restaurants being completely clueless with what vegan eat for protein (although... should you be constructing a menu devoid of nutritional value? Questionable)
But when you order 3 meals with tofu and you get a combined few small pieces, and every dish is SOAKED in soy sauce, you’ve got to wonder.
Vegan = removing animal product or by product and replacing them with nothing (or more salt maybe) for the same price.

Not vegan friendly, do not settle for this

Unfortunately, despite having a vegetarian menu, most options contain animal products and when asking for vegan, this simply involved removing ingredients and not replacing. Even the vegan options were over-priced and poorly made and very, very, very salty

Pros: You won't starve

Cons: Expensive, Overly salty , Not nutritionally complete

Lovely food and environment

A cosy little restaurant less than a few minutes walk from Brixton station. The staff were very accommodating as we had our 3 month old with us and his pushchair. The food was excellent, a separate Vegatarian and Vegan menu though the staff said most of their food could be cooked Vegan if we wished as everything was prepared from scratch on order. Delicious, we highly recommend it!

Pros: Loads of vegan options, Lots of raw options too, Good selection of vegan friendly drinks

Cons: Portion sizes were on the smaller side
