Best Indonesian food - Edit
This is easily the best (vegan) Indonesian food I’ve had. While not a cheap place, the portions of the rijsttafels are really big. Nice to get so much diversity in a meal as well.

My first Rijstaffel! Will repeat - Edit
This was my first time exposed to Indonesian food.
Read moreThey serve the food in a rijstaffel (rice table) style. This consists of many side dishes served in small portions accompanied by rice.
While there is a la carte menu, there are three closed menus. We had the second one (30 EUR per person). We asked for vegan, and they are used to it, so that was no problem. You can even order a Rijstaffel for the whole table and get only your portions vegan (but also lovely to convince others to eat vegan :p).
The menu is very protein-rich, as it contains lots of tofu and tempeh!
They also have an extensive list of drinks.
Pros: variety, kind staff

Incredible! - Edit
I loved this place. Sampurna was busy the night we went but it was fun, the staff were incredibly friendly, the food was so good I couldn’t stop eating. I really wish there was a branch near my house.

Delicious mango salad - Edit
As an ignorant white man, I was extremely sceptical when my partner suggested we order the mango salad. In my head I imagined a Caesar salad with chunks of dry mango clumsily scattered around the rim. Never underestimate the naivety of a honky for, dear reader, the mango salad is sensational. The mango is mixed with bean sprouts and other veg and absolutely caked with satay sauce. To top it off, there are Indonesian style Papad (it’s not papad but I dunno what it’s called) to scoop up the delectable salad.

There are 3 vegetarian mains on the lunch menu - ask for without egg though! They all slap.
Furthermore there’s a nice ambience and it’s not tooooo spenny.
The only downside is that the toilet was quite dimly lit, so I couldn’t see my gorgeous face in the mirror; apart from that the place is an absolute home-run.

Amazing and authentic - Edit
The flavours are on par with dishes you'd find directly in Indonesia. If you're getting the gado-gado, make sure to ask it without egg; but otherwise there are loads of vegan options. The mango salad stood out along with the sambal tofu.

Exceptional Indonesian food! - Edit
This would be 5 stars if I could as the food was the best Indonesian I have ever had. There was a really large menu with plenty of options for veggie and vegan. The flavours were amazing and the staff were so lovely and friendly. Very popular and busy so booking in advance is needed. We left completely stuffed!!

So Good! - Edit
We ordered a whole table option and I was the only vegan so they bring out vegan versions of all the dishes which is great as I was then experiencing the same dishes as my friends. The food was superb, so tasty and such an array of flavours. The crispy tempeh was so good and loved by the non vegans as well. The staff were attentive and helpful. It was just such a great overall experience, I can’t wait to come back.

Good vegetarian options - Edit
The staff was super courteous. There were 3 vegetarian marked dishes and some veg starters. My partner eats meat and wanted to try the "rice table" and the staff was happy to make a vegetarian version for me as well. (They sell Riyjtafel in twos)
Read moreIt was a number of starters, mains and sides in small portions, served with rice. It was very well made and packed with flavor without being spicy.

Incredibly sweet and savoury dishes - Edit
We reserved a table at this restaurant right next to a tulip market based on the vegetarian menu posted outside. Once inside, there was no clearly marked vegetarian menu, but our waiter told us we could choose one of the set menus and they could be made vegetarian. We ordered 2 Kunings menus (Tofu, tempeh were substituted for meat). Our waiter asked if we ate egg and we said no. The. food. was. Amazing! Many dishes to sample— yummy peanut sauces and savory black bean sauces...So much so we were sad when it was over. Highly recommended!!
