A cozy little restaurant with an original concept. It's a cuisine school with students coming from all over the world. The food and wine were great as well as the price.

Yesterday i went for mexican menu with my friend for full course menu. And i really enjoyed every meal specially the corn soup which is so good and clean taste. Also the fermented watermelon is so new and interesting taste to me. Also my friend liked the dessert with coconut foam but overall every dish was amazing. Will come again.

The menu changes every couple of weeks, currently Mexican. It’s a set menu and the four course option is definitely worth ordering. Organic drinks, a beautiful courtyard, fig tree included and just a lovely laid back wholesome vibe.

I was amazed to find that I was the only visitor on this Sunday evening. But even so Davide, Tingka and Elisa prepared a very nice Korean style meal for me! Lots of taste, kind people and great atmosphere in a very nice setting. Next time I'm in Antwerp I will be back. Thank you so much!

A special place - Edit
As the previous review from 5 days ago wrote, this is a hidden gem! Please note: There are two buildings with ‘Simone’s Place’ 2 doors down from each other so be sure to go to the right door. You will need to ring the bell (you must book in advance) and wait for the owner to let you in, which might take a while if they’re busy serving.
Read moreThe food is fresh, tasty and very filling. The concept of training people to cook/ serve plant based food is wonderful!

Hidden gem - Edit
Simone's Kitchen is a restaurant where they train chefs who want to learn about plant-based cuisine. Every 3 weeks the menu changes and each time they choose recipes from a specific country. I had the pleasure to desicover the Lebanise cuisine.
Read moreI choose the 4-course meal and was impressed with the taste combinations. Each dish has different ingredients and the portions are royal. I thinks it's difficult to find a place with a better price-quality.
It's a bit sad that this isn't the most well known restaurant in Antwerp. The restaurant itself is really a bit hidden and apart from the sign on the front you never would think that they made lovely food here. But, to quote the friendly waitress, the hidden restaurant is kind of part of the experience.

We had a wonderful meal at this cozy restaurant, housed in a 100-year-old mansion. In good weather, you can dine on the terrace.

The menu changes every three weeks, each time with a different theme.
We were there on a summer evening in August 2025 and enjoyed a Mediterranean three-course meal with Spanish and Italian dishes.
The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere, and the staff is international and very friendly. English is the main language, and one of the waitresses spoke Dutch.

Great place for vegans and vega-curious alike! - Edit
I spent a month as a volunteer in Simone's kitchen. The goal for me (non-vegan) was to get to know about plant-based food and how to cook it. Simone's Kitchen was the perfect place to do so! The chefs are experienced, they are patient and good teachers, so that volunteers are quickly immersed and are learning by doing. With its open kitchen, the restaurant has a cozy, home-like vibe. And the menu changes every three week, keeping things interesting both for guests and volunteers!

A beautiful Christmas dinner at Simone’s Kitchen! We loved the concept of a rotating menu inspired by different countries—it truly feels like traveling the world without leaving Antwerp.
Read moreThe food was exceptional. We had a rich, velvety soup, a stunning beet and pomegranate salad, and a main course featuring perfectly spiced stuffed rolls over grains. While it is a bit on the pricier side, the quality and the mission make it worth every penny.

Very nice, cosy, big hearted restaurant - Edit
I volunteered here as kitchen staff for 3 weeks, it was a lovely experience. The kitchen is run by the main chefs and other volunteers. I found during my stay that everyone was so friendly and they really helped me to learn my way around the kitchen and to teach me everything I needed to know with lots of patience. I thought that the food was excellent, a wide variety of ingredients and flavours are used to create interesting new dishes which opened a door to a new world of culinary experiences for me, as someone who has not tried much vegan food before. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to dip into vegan food, or if you have been vegan long term and want to enjoy a night out at a cosy, friendly restaurant. I found the atmosphere in the restaurant to always be very calm and welcoming, as were the hosts Ruth and Alistair who always made everything run very smoothly.
