A Perfect New year's eve

A cozy little restaurant with an original concept. It's a cuisine school with students coming from all over the world. The food and wine were great as well as the price.

Excellent

Yesterday i went for mexican menu with my friend for full course menu. And i really enjoyed every meal specially the corn soup which is so good and clean taste. Also the fermented watermelon is so new and interesting taste to me. Also my friend liked the dessert with coconut foam but overall every dish was amazing. Will come again.

Pros: Corn soup, Fermented watermelon, Starter

Just wonderful: Food, service & ethos.

The menu changes every couple of weeks, currently Mexican. It’s a set menu and the four course option is definitely worth ordering. Organic drinks, a beautiful courtyard, fig tree included and just a lovely laid back wholesome vibe.

Amazing vegan place

We had dinner on 3rd August and breakfast on 4th & 5th August. Voor dinner they work with a 4 course theme which they change from time to time. For breakfast you can choose what you want to eat and coffee, tea and juice is included. Very good food in a warm ambiance

Simply loved it!

I was amazed to find that I was the only visitor on this Sunday evening. But even so Davide, Tingka and Elisa prepared a very nice Korean style meal for me! Lots of taste, kind people and great atmosphere in a very nice setting. Next time I'm in Antwerp I will be back. Thank you so much!

Great hidden place

The service was wonderful from the very first moment. The entire team radiates warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm, making guests feel welcome and comfortable right away. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a relaxed and positive energy throughout the space.
If the weather is nice, I highly recommend sitting in the inner courtyard terrace. It's a beautiful little oasis where it's easy to spend hours enjoying both the food and the surroundings. This is an inspiring place, full of charm and offering something truly different. It's definitely a place worth visiting, and without a doubt, an experience I would love to repeat.

Pros: The concept, The service, The food

A special place

As the previous review from 5 days ago wrote, this is a hidden gem! Please note: There are two buildings with ‘Simone’s Place’ 2 doors down from each other so be sure to go to the right door. You will need to ring the bell (you must book in advance) and wait for the owner to let you in, which might take a while if they’re busy serving.
The food is fresh, tasty and very filling. The concept of training people to cook/ serve plant based food is wonderful!

Hidden gem

Simone's Kitchen is a restaurant where they train chefs who want to learn about plant-based cuisine. Every 3 weeks the menu changes and each time they choose recipes from a specific country. I had the pleasure to desicover the Lebanise cuisine.
I choose the 4-course meal and was impressed with the taste combinations. Each dish has different ingredients and the portions are royal. I thinks it's difficult to find a place with a better price-quality.

It's a bit sad that this isn't the most well known restaurant in Antwerp. The restaurant itself is really a bit hidden and apart from the sign on the front you never would think that they made lovely food here. But, to quote the friendly waitress, the hidden restaurant is kind of part of the experience.

Great... everything :)

I volunteerend in Simone's Kitchen for a month as a way to get to know better vegan alternatives. The volunteers and chefs are great at their jobs and the love and care that goes into making the menus reflects on the food.

Cozy vegan organic restaurant

We had a wonderful meal at this cozy restaurant, housed in a 100-year-old mansion. In good weather, you can dine on the terrace.
All the ingredients they use are organic and plant-based.
The menu changes every three weeks, each time with a different theme.
We were there on a summer evening in August 2025 and enjoyed a Mediterranean three-course meal with Spanish and Italian dishes.
The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere, and the staff is international and very friendly. English is the main language, and one of the waitresses spoke Dutch.

Great place for vegans and vega-curious alike!

I spent a month as a volunteer in Simone's kitchen. The goal for me (non-vegan) was to get to know about plant-based food and how to cook it. Simone's Kitchen was the perfect place to do so! The chefs are experienced, they are patient and good teachers, so that volunteers are quickly immersed and are learning by doing. With its open kitchen, the restaurant has a cozy, home-like vibe. And the menu changes every three week, keeping things interesting both for guests and volunteers!

Amazing food, staff, atmosphere

I volunteered at Simone’s Kitchen for a month and it honestly gave me an even deeper appreciation for this place. The food is made with real care, good ingredients, and a lot of attention to detail everything is fresh and thoughtfully prepared.
Behind the scenes, the atmosphere is just as warm as it feels as a customer. There’s a strong sense of respect, community, and genuine love for plant-based cooking and the concept. It’s one of those places that feels honest and heart-driven rather than trendy or forced.
If you’re in Antwerp and looking for comforting, well-made vegan food, Simone’s Kitchen is definitely worth a visit.

Worth every penny

A beautiful Christmas dinner at Simone’s Kitchen! We loved the concept of a rotating menu inspired by different countries—it truly feels like traveling the world without leaving Antwerp.
The food was exceptional. We had a rich, velvety soup, a stunning beet and pomegranate salad, and a main course featuring perfectly spiced stuffed rolls over grains. While it is a bit on the pricier side, the quality and the mission make it worth every penny.
A special shout-out to the lovely waitresses! Knowing they are volunteers makes the warm, attentive service even more impressive. Highly recommend for a special night out with a soul.

Very nice, cosy, big hearted restaurant

I volunteered here as kitchen staff for 3 weeks, it was a lovely experience. The kitchen is run by the main chefs and other volunteers. I found during my stay that everyone was so friendly and they really helped me to learn my way around the kitchen and to teach me everything I needed to know with lots of patience. I thought that the food was excellent, a wide variety of ingredients and flavours are used to create interesting new dishes which opened a door to a new world of culinary experiences for me, as someone who has not tried much vegan food before. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to dip into vegan food, or if you have been vegan long term and want to enjoy a night out at a cosy, friendly restaurant. I found the atmosphere in the restaurant to always be very calm and welcoming, as were the hosts Ruth and Alistair who always made everything run very smoothly.

Heerlijke vegan brunch
