Cafe with several clearly labeled vegan items on the menu, including the soft polenta with broad beans, peas, nettle, mint, lemon dish and the warm chestnut rice pudding with figs, prunes, almonds, fennel pollen. Open Mon-Fri 7:00am-4:00pm, Sat-Sun 8:00am-5:00pm.

Best staff, nice food.

The staff here are all so nice and friendly. Probably some of the nicest I’ve come across. The vegan options were limited, and some no longer available. I had some toast with mushrooms, baked beans and avocado. Unfortunately I was over charged and didn’t realise until it was too late. I tried to call them but they didn’t answer. My mum had the avocado toast meal and a coffee. I was charged $67 for the 3 items. So that was disappointing but overall it was a nice experience.

Update. So it turns out that the toast with beans, avo and mushrooms came to $27!! That’s a total rip-off as they are simply side dishes. Menu dishes cost less. They also have a 15% surcharge on weekends which I was unaware of. That’s why the bill was so much. That’s disappointing and I won’t go back. Such a shame really.

Pros: Swervice was amazing, Food was not bad

Cons: Super expensive and especially on the weekends.

Great experience

Warm greeting and friendly staff, attentive but not intrusive.
With indoor and outdoor seating available, we chose a table outside on a sunny day. The menu has clearly marked options with some interesting options available.
I had the fried tofu dish which was really tasty, so different from anything I have seen offered on a breakfast menu. It was beautifully presented.
This place always seems busy, yet they are always happy to accomodate.

thankful for thoughtful vegan options

If you visit in Summer, grab a table outside in the shade if you can. Inside looks cozy too. Staff were friendly and attentive without being over the top - perfect, really.

Their menus are Sicilian-inspired. Currently they offer 3 inventive brunch options that are vegan as standard and a couple that are veganisable.

My friend and I shared the green pea fritters and smoked eggplant salad. Both dishes combined a variety of flavours and colours. The presentation was aesthetically pleasing too. In fact, everything about the meal was a sensory delight. I had a cold brew too which was deliciously fruity and refreshing with a good caffeine kick.

They have $10 cocktail Happy Hours from 2 - 4pm weekends that I need to go back for. I enthusiastically recommend Small Axe to mixed groups of vegan, vego, and omni diners.
