All right, but not enthusiastic in every respect. - Edit
The sushi tasted fine. Vegetarian and vegan options available. The Restaurant is not particularly upmarket in terms of ambience, but more suitable for a quick meal. The owner is very communicative and tries to engage the guests in personal conversations. This means that if you want to have a quiet meal, you should look for another place. The restaurant is very small and only seats 6 people. However, we got a seat straight away (Sunday) and it wasn't really busy. Honestly, We had a rather queasy feeling at times.

Meal + experience - Edit
This was one of my favourite meals in Osaka. The food was lovely and fresh, I took the chefs recommendation, I found it to be a decent meal size for me. The chef chatted as he cooked telling us about Osaka and Japan, which for me added to the experience! My favourite was the Natto sushi. 🤤

Small portion sizes - Edit
Food tasted good, but at this restaurant 1 roll = 4 pieces, not a great deal! So if you get the chefs special, you eat “3 rolls” of sushi, but don’t fill up. We had to go out for more food after. Also, while the owner/chef is chatty which can be fun, he is more interested in hearing himself talk than having a conversation with you. This makes it awkward when dining-in, since the space is small and there is no option to “opt out” of this.

Pros: Sushi was tasty , Take out is probably the way to go
Cons: Portions sizes were small, Not a great deal, Chef kept telling me to “stop eating so fast”

Separate vegan item - Edit
Tiny shack, seats only a few ppl.
Read moreOwner knows his vegan items and was kind enough to ask if we were the kind of vegans who ate honey or not. It's one-man operated so you have to wait a little and be ready for conversation.
Tasty items, but small. Left liking the flavor but wanting an American style feast 😖 lol
Pros: Vegan friendly , Flavorful
Cons: Small bites

If I could I’d give him 5 stars - Edit
It’s the typical Japanese small place to have some beers and taste some Japanese food. The chef prepared a set with 12 pieces of Uramakizushi, being 3 different types with 4 pieces per type. I liked all of them!

Best vegetarian sushi, best chef, best atmosphere - Edit
Found this place when looking for vegetarian sushi, ended up being the best meal I had in Japan. The chef is an incredibly friendly Japanese man who speaks great English and chats with you throughout the whole meal while he prepares your food. Asks you about dietary requirements when you come in (and knows the specific concerns with fish/egg/disguised animal products) and points you to the correct parts of the menu. Despite all that he convinced us to just have a drink and let him decide what we should have! Also gives a great Japanese/specific Osaka dialect lesson! The most friendly, warm and inviting dinner atmosphere I've had in Japan (which is saying something considering how friendly and polite everyone is). Would recommend to all vegetarians/vegans feeling left out of an authentic Japanese dining experience! Will definitely be coming back to see him when I'm back in Japan.

Great sushi with vegan options - Edit

Friendly chef, great sushi - Edit
Chef asked us if we were vegan as we sat down and asked us what sort of vegan ie honey or no, eggs etc, so definitely a strong knowledge of veganism. We let him choose for us and they were great! I liked the wasabi roll and the spicy roll, but all were excellent.

If you’re in Osaka this place is a must visit! It’s a tiny sushi bar with only 6 seats making for a super personal experience. The chef is very chatty and will give you cultural information about the food and Osaka in general. Food was really good and fun to try.

Mecca oishii! Tons of veggie options, but I recommend having the chef's special. I had the avocado & natto, spicy veggie, and matcha rolls. Chef spoke fluent English and was pleasant to converse with. Would come back in a heartbeat! 🩷

Tiny, bar style restaurant. Nice, diverse vegan menu. The owner/ chef is a real character, nice to chat to and is very thorough at asking what you can and can't eat. The sushi itself was well made and had a good balance of flavour.

Great experience - Edit
The restaurant is tiny but it was definitely worth it. The owner is funny and likes to talk to his guests. He speaks English well and asks you if your vegan and which foods you eat. The sushi was delicious. We had the combo where he makes you three different kinds of his choice.

Incredible Experience - Edit
I'll be honest, it was great! I was just happy to be there, eating a well crafted self made sushi in a kinda small location, but the owner is very funny, has had a lot of fun making food and enjoying entertaining everyone in the meantime. I could not recommend this anymore!

Amazing sushi - Edit
The owner is a very friendly cook, who asks you what you don't eat and proposes the sushi accordingly. I ordered a combo of 3 types and it was the best vegetarian sushi I ever had! My favorite one was with Natto ( japanese fermented soy beans) and also the Hot Pot was delicious. It should deserve 5 stars.
