Not as vegan as I thought - Edit
Before you fill your plate, ask very clearly what is vegan! I thought almost everything was vegan, but it was not and at the cashier I asked and some things on my plate were not vegan and you pay for the plate. Didn’t feel confident that I was eating vegan food.

Yes, always best to check in vegetarian places, but there’s always the risk of miscommunication as well as the person you are asking may not fully understand or have checked before responding. I’d usually go the simpler dishes consisting only tofu, tempeh or veggies and avoid mock meats as usually they aren’t vegan in Malaysia. Some tofu can contain eggs too but the sellers would know which ones are eggless.

Do Not Trust Lacto-Ovos - Edit
On google some reviews called this place vegan so I went and asked. Proprietor at the cash machine said everything was vegan no milk no eggs. Unsatisfied, I pressed her about the ingredients in the mock meats and eventually she capitulated and said yeah about 5-10% contained eggs but didn't know which.

This is usually the case for all vegetarian restaurants in Malaysia. If they say no eggs and milk it just means they didn’t add them to the dishes. It doesn’t mean they checked all the ingredients of the products used for those dishes, especially the mock meats.

Yeah, pretty frustrating how these businesses don’t bother checking the ingredients of their processed ingredients and how other customers claim such restaurants to be vegan. It’s a pretty common sight on this platform. Had to call out one such restaurant in Penang.

Do you think even Dharma Realm buffet is poisoned? They have a sign up, but now I'm second guessing their trustworthiness.

I’ve not been there myself but other strict vegans who tend to check thoroughly have found the place to previously not being fully vegan. But not sure if they are actually vegan these days.

Nice place - Edit
Buffet was finished so I ordered a dish with mushrooms. Was good and so was the bacang (big rice dumplings packaged in leaves). Owners were very kind, would definitely return when around.

Very flavorful and huge portion. Nice staff - Edit
I will DEFINITELY be back. I could barely finish the meal. I had two entrees in the large version. It was so much food. They also had a buffet that was priced based on how many different items you get. The minimum for the buffet was 7 ringgit, and there was so much variety. The staff explained everything and was extremely friendly. This is a must visit.

Great selection - Edit
We really loved it here, absolutely loads of dishes, veg, various fake meats, tofu, tempeh etc. choice of white or brown rice , bao buns, drinks, also some dishes you can order such as noodle soups. Very reasonable about 10 myr per plate. It was a bit hard work to manage the buffet with two young kids but we both agreed that pre kids we would have been here every day!

Amazing and wel priced food - Edit
They had a very nice variety of meat subsitutes, which all tasted very different. Often at buffets, everything had the sameish sauce but that defo wasnt the case here. One small thing is that they did not have many vegetables but for the rest everything was amazing.
Read moreUpdate: we went at different time, then they had vegetables and amazing vegan bao buns. So make sure you get there on time to be able to fully enjoy the food they serve
Take care that you do not accidentally walk into the non vegan Chinese buffet immediately next door, which happened to us..

Amazing buffet - Edit
Great choice of fake meats, a wide variety of Malay food. If you wanted to try everything at one time, you would need several plates - the choice is so big. They sell also some interesting snacks and drinks. I tried organic soy milk which was good.

Amazing mock meats - Edit
Everything was so good. Plenty of options to choose, and really varied. Mock meats are one of the bests I have had, and for once we could have a high protein meal. Saucy but not really oily.

Heavy on stomach, buffet options have similar taste, a bit icky - Edit
It mocks meat and fishes to the point you think it's a real thing. A bit too icky for my taste. It has disgusting texture.

Delicious Malaysian Food - Edit
The food here is absolutely delicious and what a range there is. Vegans, this really is one of the best places to showcase how lucky we are today in terms of having an abundance of great food animal cruelty free. Highly recommend. Our food and drinks were less than £4.00.

Amazing cheap food, nice staff - Edit
The place is a buffet style where you choose whatever you like and then the staff tells you the price. Our meals always cost us around 10 ringgits each. They have lots of fake meat options which are really delicious (different structures and sauces). During our stay in KL we used to eat there every time we were close to it. Definitely recommended!!

Delicious and Affordable Plant Based Buffet - Edit
Even though the place is labeled here as being vegetarian we asked and were very clearly assured that everything they serve is plant based and contains no eggs or dairy. The lady at the counter was very helpful and even explained the ingredients of some of the items. The food is delicious and very diverse. They have around 30 items in the buffet at one but about half of the available options change daily (we’ve been there 3 times so far). The prices are very affordable and the total is calculated on the spot depending on what you put on your plate.

Amazing buffet. - Edit
Just adding to the chorus with my review. The buffet in the early morning is the restaurant's strength. Food is delicious but very affordable. Drinks are less amazing but suitable. The staff are delightfully helpful and friendly. The restaurant is a short 15 minutes walk from Bukit Bintang. The restaurant seems to be very clean and tables are cleared up quickly as there's not a huge number of tables. Gets busy on weekends.

A hidden veg gem - Edit
Ok, it is not the fanciest place in KL, but it was the veggie buffet I enjoyed the most in my life. Price is ridiculous (less than 2€ for a decent amount of food) and variety is simply amazing. But the best thing is the flavor. Probably the best mock meat you will ever try. Asian sauces are the same, just like the textures. Hail Budda!

Nice mock meat buffet, friendly owner - Edit
Nice mock meat buffet, friendly owner. You pay for the diversity on your plate. So a plate with just one dish is more expensive then the same amount but different dishes. But everything is cheap here. A plate is between 5 an 15 MYR. A lot of the mock meat dishes are in a very sweet sauce.
Read moreThey also have some steam buns at the entrance for less than 2 MYR. The one with Red Bean is more sweet, so you can use it as a dessert 😃
