Tofu factory with a little eatery inside

As a local, I've been eating yunyi's tofu for years (usually got them from the local supermarket), but I never been to the factory before and bought the tofu straight from the original place.

My first visit was okay-ish, we usually visit another tofu factory just right beside it (which is also a tofu legend in Bandung), but for a change of pace, we visited Yunyi that day.

Overall, solid tofu but the variety of menus weren't as exciting as its neighbor. Silky tofu was delicious, and I ended up getting some tempeh to be brought home as well.

Fried Silken Tofu

Their fried silken tofu (tahu sutra goreng) was really delicious. Probably the best fried tofu I’ve had. Just be careful when buying some of their snacks. Not everything they sell there is vegan. They even sell eggs.

Cons: not completely vegan

Something a Little Different

As a vegetarian, I always thought it would be great if someone opened something like a 'Kentucky Fried Tofu'. I think this is it. This is a very bright clean place that serves a small variety of fried tofu dishes. They do not serve complete dinners. It is just generous portions of different types of crispy fried tofu with sauce. I ordered two, and brought some home with me. They also sell juices and soy drinks, as well as desserts. I liked it. Don't expect a complete meal, just tasty fried tofu. Staff was friendly and spoke some English. Prices were between two and three dollars US for a generous portion of tofu. The place is easy to find as it is just a few hundred meters west of the Masjid Agung Bandung (main mosque) on JL. Sudirman. It is just a few meters East of Kuang Ming vegetarian (which I also reviewed)

Pros: good, crispy tofu, bright and clean, moderately priced

Cons: don't expect a complete meal
