A favourite

Used to be extremely reasonably priced but have crept up over the years. Still an enjoyable place to eat. Dosas are delicious. Kurma is vegan. BYOB - only 75p per bottle

nae rush

The pre-gig food was delicious, but be prepared for a leisurely dining experience—our main took 50 minutes to arrive. While the curry and rice could have been more filling, the dosa was a standout, accompanied by two chutneys and a flavorful curry. Overall, the food was decent, but there are better options nearby if you’re short on time.
We spilt the bill and it was £18 each.

Great starter

I had the dosa (masala?), which completely covered the whole plate. The presentation was great and the masala inside was yummy. What really did it for me was the starter, which was a cauliflower thing. It was so nicely spiced, and it was heavily agreed upon by the rest of the group I was with that it was the best starter.

Was the starter gobi manchurian by any chance?

It was called cauliflower chukka, dunno if that's the same but based on pictures it does look similar

Dosa-tastic!

We used to visit the Kalpna a few doors along as it’s totally veggie but they changed owners. They stopped the lunchtime buffet which had always been great. Today - no-one in at all. We left and discovered Tanjore. No fuss. Old-style Indian. Great dosas.
Around 20 people in and everyone apart from us were Indian. Always a good sign.

Pros: Dosas!, Quiet - no Muzak.

Cons: Thalis in menu on door and online. But no more.

Best southern Indian food!

Amazing authentic cuisine with vegetarian options marked “V” but the waiter was very helpful and said they could make any vegan and double-checked my order with the chef. Don’t let the underwhelming exterior put you off!

Indian food with central location

It was delicious. Small selection of vegan suitable meals. V indicates vegetarian meals, but many dishes can be made vegan upon request.

Tasty!

They don't have a separate menu but the waiter was able to tell me what was vegan and what could be adapted to be vegan. Loved the variety!
