Stocks a wide range of frozen vegetarian fauxmeats and fauxfish, including vegan, at reasonable prices. Friendly service. Open Sat 12:30pm-6:00pm.
Open Mon-Fri by appointment. Closed Sundays and holidays.
I don't know about "healthy", but this place has some GREAT freezer meat alternatives!! Stuff we have never seen in a grocery store and at decent prices. It seemed like most of it was Taiwanese imports.
Have been wanting to pop in for a while but you can only go Saturdays 12:30-6. It’s certainly no frills but it doesn’t matter because there are so many vegan options and at great prices. If you’re in search of a vegan meat replacement, it’s here!! I found veg: duck, lemon chicken, bacon, salmon, and fish patties, very excited to try everything.
Terry's doesn't seem to have quite as wide a selection as they used to but it is still a good resource for mock meats, fish, condiments. They have several commercial refrigerators stocked with meat balls, fish balls, tuna, shrimp, various kinds of chicken, etc. They also have tofu. It is located in the rear of a warehouse area. There is also a My Organic Market very close by so, between the two of them, you can get quite a bit of veg shopping done.
so I haven't been there in a while (that whole veggie meat scare) though but the two times I went Terry was extremely helpful and very nice and even gave us some free Citrus Spareribs. He had pretty much any mock meat you could imagine even abalone and lobsters and such. He used to (and maybe still does) deliver too the MD Food Co-op and the veggie chicken hams (yes chicken hams) made the best vegan chicken salad ever. The pork log I got from him was used to make homemade vegan dumplings and they turned out amazing. It is a small warehouse with just a bunch of freezers but it was an awesome place.
"Terry" (?) was very helpful, and even helped me decode the non-English labels--showing me that some of the faux meat I'd picked out contained non-vegan ingredients (egg whites/gelatin). You might miss Terry's the first time--it's just a bunch of freezers in a garage building. But don't be frightened off--this is GEM!
