Had a works meal here back in 1997. Enjoyed it. The current council hygiene rating is very poor though

Lovely chinese food, great atmosphere

A Hidden Gem Worth the Hype!

I’ve driven past The Imperial Restaurant in Low Fell countless times, and after hearing so many glowing recommendations, I finally decided to give it a try one Wednesday evening ~ and I’m so glad I did!

Despite it being midweek, the atmosphere was lively and the restaurant was packed, giving it a weekend feel. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I really appreciated that they had a separate vegan menu.

We ordered:
Veg Rice Vermicelli
Mixed Vegetables in Black Bean Sauce
Salt & Pepper Tofu
Veggie Spring Rolls

Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and served on hot plates to keep it warm ~ a really nice touch. We ended the meal with complimentary sliced oranges and hot towels, which made the experience feel complete and well thought-out.

My friend kindly treated me, and I believe the bill came to around £40 for the 2 of us, great value for such a satisfying and delicious meal.

Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were excellent. The Imperial delivered a wholesome and memorable dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!
