Burgers in Malmö

I believe this is the place to go to for burgers in Malmö. The menu baffled me at first where you first choose your style of burger (cole slaw, standard etcetera) and then which type of "meat" you want (soy mince or chickpea) and then another choice of bread. Super-friendly staff. Quick serving. Reasonable prices. Big outdoor seating which was perfect now in the summer. Looked like it had quite some space inside as well. The only minor thing I could think of would be that the burger was hard to keep together - a toothpick through it or a coffe filter to hold it in had maybe made it sliiightly better. Will go here next time in Malmö for sure!

Pros: Quick, Satisfying size, Outdoor seating

Nice place

We went there for a beer and I took a cupcke too. The place was calm, with music and people had vegan burgers, next time we'll try them! The cupcake was amazigly good, made with chocolate, tahini and peanut butter.

Yum! And good gluten-free options

I was so glad The Vegan Bar was open over the holiday period, as so many other places were closed.

The staff was very friendly and helpful in figuring out gluten-free options for a friend I visited with. We wrote to them ahead of time by FB message to make sure they had GF stuff and they responded right away. My friend was able to get a really nice burger with a GF bun, and they even have GF beer!

The portobello mushroom burger I had was divine. It came with an enormous mound of potato wedges, so nobody should worry about leaving this place hungry.

The ambiance is pretty nice too, with interesting framed animal-rights-themed drawings and sayings.

The menu is in Swedish only, but the staff speaks good English, so you can just ask them to describe what they have.

One thing to note is that their hours are a bit reduced in the winter. The day we visited, they were open only from 3 pm rather than the earlier time listed, so you may want to call and check before you go.

Pros: great burgers, friendly, helpful staff, gluten-free options

Cons: opening hours sometimes vary

Exceptional Burgers In Unexceptional Location

The burger was - as mentioned in the title - extremely good! The portion was big enough as well - it came with a lot of potato wedges - which is always an extra satisfaction factor. Therefore, the price (99 SEK for the regular "Aburger") is absolutely reasonable! The place has a pretty standard outlook, nothing too fancy, and located in a bit of a sketchy area. One thing to mention is that is that the place was packed and many people waiting in line, so it was not too comfortable sitting in the main room. There is another seating area which was quieter though. 5 stars nonetheless for the great food in great sizes!

It's the first time i've eaten a hamburger at a restaurant that i've been happy about the amount of sauses. The burger itself was incredibly good too and it was a lot of food.

We got unlucky...

By showing up around lunch time during the week. They apparently don't serve burgers all day, so we were only able to get the one lunch special offered, tacos.

So this review is only for the tacos and I'm bummed to have missed the burgers everyone raves about. The chickpea taco with tzatziki sauce was just OK, it was served with a tomato and onion salad, which was also just OK.

I'd love to go back for dinner, but I'd skip and just go to Jalla Jalla instead.

Pros: Cool vibe, Takes Credit Cards

Cons: No lunch menu, only 1 special

Cozy place in a lively area

It is right on the central place Möllevången, between all the bars. It has cozy outdoor seating, and inside the environment is nice and clean. If you want to sit a bit by yourself, you can go a bit further in and sit there in your own corner.

The food was absolutely awesome, with many choices. The menu is filled with so great ideas for all types of tastes. Meat eaters seems to love this place along with vegetarians and vegans. Absolutely recommended.

The toilet is not very fresh anymore, with all its graffiti all over the room and with a foul odor of urine.

Pros: really great food, nice environment, easy to find

Cons: gross toilet

The absolute BEST

Without a doubt the best burger I have ever had. Chocolate muffin was amazing too (icing would be better soft - but still great)
An absolute must if youre in Malmo

Pros: Fully vegan, HUGE meal

Vegan burger lovers

The only flaws are the area (not really central) and the limited choice...but for burger lovers this is a paradise! We could choose between 10 different burgers. The vegana is the one with more veggies and the mushymushy has a black sauce that is really yummy. The menu is written in Swedish but the stuff is nice and explain all you need to know. The set is comfy and a little alternative (different from usual but not too much). We got very big burgers and many fried potatoes with tasty sauces. Also asked for dessert and they told us that recently they are trying to add some at the menu like chocolate muffin and apple pie (to die for..pics posted)To try if you get to Malmö ;)

Very good burgers!

I was at The Vegan Bar with two non-vegan friends and we were all very satisfied. You can choose between maybe 10 different burgers that are all served with fries. Vegan sauces are available at the table. You can either choose patties made from tofu, chickpeas or portobello mushroom. Fortunately, we were told that the portobello option shouldn't be taken by hungry guests. The burgers were rather pricy, but really delicious. I would go there again at any time.

Pros: Delicious Burgers, Chickpea/Tofu option

Cons: Only Burgers, Pricy

all vegan and great burgers

An all vegan place with cheap beer and great burgers and fries! I like the soyburger best, the chick pea burger is sometimes a little bit dry. The have a lot of different toppings to choose between so you will find your favorite!

All vegan burger bar - excellent!

It might be out of the actual city center, but it's right where it's supposed to be - in the area of record stores, independent book cafes, second-hand stores, concert venues, vegan-friendly supermarkets etc. Close by Triangeln station.

The bar have only existed for a couple of months so far, and I hope they'll be able to stick around for a while. I (also) got my whiskey marinated soy patty Mushy Mushy-burger to go because I was in a hurry, and it was delicious, but got soggy pretty fast, so the next time I go, I'll make town for a sit-down dinner. I wish that the Danish Astrid & Aporna fast food joint would take after these guys.

They had just about 10 different burgers, and then you choose your patty (apart from the whiskey-marinated soy patty, you can also get a chickpea patty or a portobello burger) and you choose between light or dark bread.

You get fries with your menu, with some kind of white dipping sauce, that tasted slightly like bearnaise. Divine!

Pros: ALL VEGAN!!!, Good selection, Location

Cons: A little bit pricey

Great burgers

We were in Malmo for the day and intended to go to Kao's for lunch, however it was closed on Sundays so we picked the Vegan Bar and after a good walk to find it were glad we did. The burgers are fantastic. There are three types of burger to choose from, then various different toppings all served with chips. Unfortunately they only had menus in Swedish and the guys who were working there only had limited English, however between us we muddled through the options and worked out what was what. I went for the soya based burger (marinated in whisky) and the 'Mushy Mushy' topping, which was different mushrooms, pepper jack Violife, salad and a Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. It was very 'meaty' which I like. As well as soft drinks they served different beers, spirits and wine and seemed to be open late most nights.
It was obviously a very new place and currently they only do burgers, however I imagine there is scope for expanding this in the future. For a quiet Sunday afternoon there was quite a few people coming and going which is a good sign. The place was shiny, clean and comfortable - vegan junk food at it's best.

Pros: Excellent burgers, Friendly, Long opening hours, Clean and comfortable

Cons: Only do burgers, No English menu, Out of the centre
