Excellent lunch - Edit
The food was awesome and so was the music. Everyone was so friendly and checked for allergens. I had the V. L. T. made with gluten free bread and 2 caramel milkshakes. The milkshakes were the best I’ve ever had! Nice little health food store as well.

Nice food, nice staff - Edit
Decent sized menu, food was very reasonably priced. Portions were good and it tasted delicious. The staff were so friendly and I loved getting to shop at the same time.

This is Definitely the Place - Edit
What absolute joy this venue is. A welcoming space for all, with friendly, helpful staff and an excellent shop attached to boot.
Read moreOnce again, when faced with real choices, I went completely overboard, but I am so glad I did. On the savoury side, the jumbo sausage roll and the spicy harissa wrap were just edged out by the Rueben sandwich in terms of my favourite dish, though none of them were anything but delicious. As for the (better) sweet side of things, choosing a favourite was nigh on impossible. The white chocolate raspberry scone was superb, the Bakewell slide amazing and the date & walnut slice incredible. Oh, and the caramel milkshake wasn’t too shabby either.
Easily the best place in town, go check it out.

Very good caff - Edit
A simple place which is more or less the same as their other location, “hustle” in Belfast. The options are soup and stew of the day, and a few vegan meat deli type sandwiches. All good value and well made - very healthy, hearty and filling. The shop can get pretty cold because of the way the door opens btw! This is also a very well stocked health food store, mostly with Suma food co-op things and a limited amount of viridian/solgar supplements, as well as a very few homeopathic things.

Really good - Edit
A cafe and health food shop combo. Right in the middle of Holywoods' main street.
Read moreSide point: Good luck parking in Holywood and also take note if on the main strip you'll get a parking ticket if there for more than one hour.
This place is taking the alt and comp meds / whole foods baton from the recently closed Iona shop (thanks to long standing Anthropop presence Heidi for that!), it is really worth a visit.
Holywood has almost as many vegetarian eateries as churches, which is a huge achievement for an Ulster town!
To focus on this place: it's a progressive, wholly vegan business. Has a range of seitan focused classics and soup / stew offerings on the menu. Not a huge menu, but really well done and quick service. Everything we got was nice, the stew was smoked paprika seasoned and was delicious. Tumeric latte also pretty special.
No hesitations in recommending, everyone should find something and can pick up some food supplies, toiletries or homeopathy and herbs and tea / coffee too.
Pros: Hearty, Well cooked, Quick
Cons: Not much parking

There is a free car park about a 5 minute walk on the same road on the opposite side of the road without the time limit.

Totally fab! - Edit
Enjoyed a brilliant lunch here. We had filled sodas and scones which were a real treat as so hard to get vegan versions of these! We also had a chocolate milkshake and hot chocolate both of which were amongst the best we’d ever had. We left having eaten far too much but we savoured every mouthful. We will be back!!

Top find in Holywood! - Edit
Total vegan shop and takeaway food. Could spend ages (and a lot of money) as so many nice things. Staff are great too which is always a bonus. Will be coming back to support this business as much as I can!

All vegan - Edit
All vegan! Shop has a few non vegan items but the whole cafe is vegan which is fab. I had Irish stew and a wheaten soda. Yummy. We tried the chickpea toastie which was very tasty although inside was not heated- maybe by design 🤷♀️. Lots of lovely looking sweet options too. Several seating options and lots of goodies to browse in the shop (the nutmeg). There is a loo 👍

Completely vegan! - Edit
Love this little cafe in the back of Nutmeg health food store. Great for lunch - soup, stew, toasties, sausage rolls etc - or coffee and a bun. The coronation chickpea toastie was so tasty as was the lentil stew (full of veg and warming paprika). I also had a vanilla chai latte and lemon drizzle bar which were both delicious. I also sampled the ‘bacon’ soda and tomato and spinach soup ordered by OH, both really good also. The staff were very helpful and friendly, as well as happy to answer any questions. I am also personally reassured when any kitchen is 100% vegan so I cannot recommend enough.

Great new vegan café - Edit
This small cafe is hidden away inside the Nutmeg health food store, and offers lovely stews, soups, toasties and treats. Dogs are welcome too. The smokey lentil stew was delicious and filling. Happy to recommend highly.
