Serves meat, vegan options available. Brasserie with vegan choices including three vegan dishes clearly marked on the menu: a salad, vegan pizza, an a polenta dish. Open Mon-Sun 12:00-14:30, 19:00-22:00.
I had the vegan pizza, well filled, but not really good taste. Raw aubergines , paprika, onions and champignons… It would have been good, if the veggies were well done io. raw… and some herbs …
I have filled my stomach, but will have problems digesting it this evening …
Some veg menu items but very ordinary food and rude service - Edit
We went to Trinidad for lunch today (Sunday). It looked like a fun place with brightly coloured tables and chairs and a few clearly marked vegetarian and vegan items in the menu. After waiting a while to be polite we figured it must be you find your own table. Eventually one staff member approached us and asked us what we wanted, we indicated we would like lunch (we had no menus ) She left without even replying. Ages later another staff member turned up, slapped menus down on the table and when we tried to ask a couple of questions (in basic French) he said “not French!” and left. We looked at each other tossing up whether to give up and move on. A third staff member finally took our order and was very pleasant.
We had a vegetarian burger and the fried Camembert. Crumbed potato patti on a very ordinary bun with pickle , tough fried potato chunks and a small salad on the side. The Camembert was pretty unappealing, same potato chunks, quiche jelly/jam and same little bit of salad on the side.
There was a substantial amount of food and it was basically as on the menu, it was just really ordinary. We ate because we were hungry and don’t like wasting food anyway but wished we’d just got something from a bakery or elsewhere.
As I live nearby La Trinidad, I come here quite regularly. It's a brasserie that offers some food to go with the beer. I have tried all three of their vegan dishes and they're all pretty delicious and are served in good portion sizes. One of its best features is definitely the outside seating where you can enjoy a nice evening with friends in the middle of Dijon.
We came to Trinidad after arriving in Dijon on a Sunday and discovering most places to be closed, though we were pleasantly surprised by what we found.
The restaurant was in a nice square and we took a table outside. The vegan options were sadly quite limited. There was a vegan pizza with aubergine, peppers, mushrooms and olives, but no cheese. There was also a salad (yawn). My sibling and I settled on having the asiette vegan, which had fried polenta, vegetables and potatoes with a large salad and a pot of tomato sauce. It was very tasty, thought we both agreed it was essentially a salad given the amount of leaves on the plate. We would have preferred a bit more polenta. But it was overall a nice experience and we’re glad we went.
We discovered that most restaurants and cafes are closed on Sundays in Dijon, particularly vegetarian establishments, so we were pleased to discover Trinidad and their easy to use menu (see picture gallery), pleasant staff and perfectly acceptable vegan offerings.
Trinidad is a lovely cafe in a picturesque square in Dijon. There are three alternatives listed on the menu, we both went for the pizza, a simple concoction comprising vegetables on a pizza base, which took the edge off our lunch time hanger.
For coffee or tea drinkers, be aware that you’ll need to take it black as they do not offer any plant based milks.
