Food was good, staff not so much.

Good venue with a great atmosphere. Food was very tasty, I had miso soup followed by a noodle main course which I can’t remember the name of, and a side of edamame beans.
The staff however weren’t particularly helpful in clarifying what was vegan on the menu. I understand the language barrier is always going to be a problem, but surely the word vegan is fairly universal. I managed to work out what was safe in the end, but the experience I had wouldn’t entice me to return specially.

Pros: Lots of option, Food was delicious

Cons: Staff a bit dismissive

5 stars, even, if I cannot rate it on HappyCow, as it is not fully vegan

For us, this is a five stars restaurant, even, if it is not a fully vegan one. They really care about food, and they really care about vegan food. We are going to the UNKAI every time, we are visiting Freiburg. They have various vegan starters like rice chips with shitake basil mayonnaise and also an own vegan/vegetable section on the menu. Furthermore, they have vegan sushi. Everything in great quality and comes with an excellent service.

Pros: quality of the food, excellent service
