Lovely vegan food "stall" - Edit
Very nice food. I had difficulties understanding what some items on the menu were, but otherwise perfect. We bought food to eat at the tables in the market and a lot to takeaway 😅 Visited on 15/11/24

Recommend the salt and pepper "chicken" - Edit
Relaxing at our hotel after a long day of walking around, my partner and I got peckish. Being a vegan/omni relationship, we couldn't agree on what to order, so we ordered separately via Deliveroo.
Read moreRecently, I have started to deviate from faux meat dishes and opt more for vegetable based meals, but I'd heard positive reviews for Vegan House, so I wanted to try for myself.
I ordered the salt and pepper "chicken" bites and sweet potato fries.
My food arrived quickly. Both dishes were cooked really well and were good portions. However, I would have liked a bit of seasoning or something on the sweet potato fries.
The salt and pepper "chicken" was absolutely not lacking in flavour whatsoever. I wish I ordered 2 portions of those instead as they were so tasty! I highly recommend them! The batter coating is lovely and I am a sucker for salt and pepper seasoning.
Pros: Available on Deliveroo with quick delivery times, Fully vegan

Vegan House - Edit
Vegan House is a counter in a vibrant, bustling market space mainly compromising of eateries. Communal seating indoors with some table and chairs outside. Fast food style menu. Originally opted for the kebab wrap but the helpful staff recommended choosing something else due to food intolerances. I went for the fysh and chips and was handed a buzzer to come and collect when it went off. About ten minutes later I was picking it up, so not too long a wait. Not sure what batter is used on the fysh, it was very yellow so maybe chickpea flour? It didn’t quite hit the crispy mark for me nor did the taste either, the fysh itself was soy based. The mushy peas were pretty dry but the tartare sauce was spot on. Decent portion and I’d return and try something else next time. 3.5 ⭐️

A Tasty Vegan Spot in Chester - Edit
We visited Vegan House during a day out in Chester and tried a bit of everything: Jaffa Cake cake slice, fish and chips, doner loaded fries, and chicken strips.
Read moreThe doner loaded fries didn’t quite do it for me, but the fish and chips were excellent—crispy and flavorful. The Jaffa Cake cake slice was a real treat.
The restaurant is located in a busy marketplace where you order and collect your food with a buzzer. The friendly staff helped us pick from the menu so we could sample a variety of their food as we were only there for the day.
Overall, it was a great find, and if we return to Chester we will definitely be back to try more of their vegan options.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Nice Vibe

Nice vegan fast food - Edit
I visited Vegan House as I won a voucher in a raffle. We all ordered different type of burgers and were all very tasty, non greasy and very flavourful. They were simple and yet delicious. If you crave fast food this is the place. The only thing is that we got extra coleslaw and got plain shredded red cabbage with no mayo or seasoning.

Tasty vegan junk food - Edit
We have been here many times and the good has always been good. My favourite is the dirty fries. The staff have always been friendly and the food has always been hot and tasty. The menu is quite varied although it is all junk food. It isn't cheap but it is worth the money.

Not for me - Edit
Didn’t think it was anything special. I asked for the kebab without hot sauce and was reassured they could do it, but I got it full of hot sauce anyway. The southern fried bites tasted very oily and flavourless. The kebab flavour also wasn’t there as the cabbage kinda overpowered it. Overall it felt quite underwhelming.

Great Vegan Food - Edit
Kebab Wrap was the best. Can’t sing the praises of this eatery enough. Oh, the staff and chef were brilliant as well. My partner had the sausage bap as well, and had to convince her several times that it was vegan (she isn’t vegan). A great find for a vegan meal in pleasant surroundings.

Comfort food - Edit
Good, spiced fries and purple-cabbage coleslaw. I took away a warm chick’n wrap and ate it later cold - good but would have been better while warm. There’s a salad on the menu, which I’ll order next time.

Insanely good dirty scran! - Edit
Grabbing lunch - the staff pointed us towards the lunch deal (Tuesday - Friday 12-5pm), meaning our meals were £12 each. Absolutely divine. My partner is a meat-eater but says she would choose the Classic at Vegan House over a ‘real’ burger. Portion sizes are quite solid, the skin-on fries are delicious but the burger blew us away. Really brilliant food in a nice place (wheelchair accessible also).

Cheese not mentioned - Edit
I had the spinach and falafel burger...the only thing not flavoured like meat/ fish. Unfortunately it had melted cheese on it which wasn't mentioned and I don't eat. So the whole patty was wasted. Chips okay, average.

Incorrect opening times - Edit
I came here for breakfast, it's inside Chester Market so there are other food places too. My husband eats meat so opted to eat somewhere else but I really wanted to try here. Checked online numerous places says opens at 10am. We arrived early at 9:30 so we had a look around sat down and my husband went to order his about 9:55 and I stayed with my toddler at the table. Once back I waited until just gone 10am and walked over and it was still closed, no staff in sight. Thought ok fine maybe they are a bit late, I sat back down double check times online and waited and checked again at 10:30, by this time my husband had and finished his and there was still no sign of it opening at time soon so had to go else where. Really disappoint and hungry! No sign to say they were opening late or shut that day, nothing. When we left at 11:30 there was someone in there... cant really say you offer breakfast when you're not there until nearly midday. I hate to leave a bad review for a full vegan establishment but it really got to me as I was so looking forward to it and wasted time waiting around for them to open when we had to get going. UPDATE YOUR OPENING TIMES! to avoid disappointing other potential customers. Wouldn't return, would've left one star if happy cow would let me.
