Okay - Edit
I was happy to find a fully vegan restaurant in the area. But in terms of flavor, this is not the best burger I’ve had. I think the price is a bit high for what you get.

Fair - Edit
This was one of the first vegan restaurants I went to 8 years ago.
Read moreAt the time I was amazed by the burger and would have probably given 4 stars, but now there are better places in Tokyo I think so I give three. The patty is good. I wasn’t satisfied with the rest.
Place is very small too.

Romantic and cosy - Edit
We stumbled upon this hidden gem on our walk back to hotel. The wait staff who work Friday and Saturday night were so friendly and sweet and the owner also came and chatted to us. The meals were yummy Italian style, on the pricey side. Nice to sit somewhere relaxing!

Great food and service - Edit
Having struggled to find vegetarian food on our Asia tour this place was a gem. The food is good quality and the service is superb. You have to order a drink with the meal but that makes it part of the experience with a fantastic range of beers and interesting soft drinks on offer.

Better than I thought - Edit
I wasn't impressed by the reviews here, but a vegan friend recommended this place to me, so I decided to give it a try.
Read moreThe little food that was left on a Friday evening was a bit underwhelming on display, but, after waiting for it to be heated, prepared and nicely arranged, I must say I was impressed. I did not try the full burgers, but the hamburg steak with tomato sauce and the kabocha salad were amazing. The curry was super spicy (loved it!) And the rice noodles seemed like the real thing. I love brown rice, so I'm also biased there.
My friend and I were also being kind of bitchy between us because we were super tired and starved and the food took a while, but I must say the two ladies there were the sweetest, and they left us with a better aftertaste than even the food!!
I wanted to try their vegan breads to go as well, but a take-out guy snatched the last discounted melon pan in front of my eyes, so I thought it wasn't meant to be that day. I'll be back, hopefully
Pros: Everything is vegan, Super friendly staff
Cons: Tiny dining space, Takes a while to get your food, Not many options if you visit in the evening

Tasty baked goods! - Edit
Like others have said, the prices seemed a bit high. I didn’t order from the deli, but at the front of the store they had melon pan, cinnamon buns and curry pan, all vegan, all delicious!

Vegetarian Beast is an ALL-VEGAN restaurant located a short walk from Mejiro station.
The space is small but inviting, with friendly staff and American tunes on the radio. You can either order a burger or a set of side dishes of your choice.
I went for the latter (1000 yen), and got macaroni salad and yuurinchi (Chinese-style fried chikn) with brown rice. It was good, but small. I tried a bite of Ryuji’s hamburg steak, and that was good too. I was tempted to try dessert, but the prices put me off.
We enjoyed our lunch, but between the three of us we agreed that we weren’t in a huge rush to go back. There are so many other, far more delicious options in Tokyo.

Lovely little spot - Edit
Lovely little spot with generous portions. I really like the burger, coffee with soy or oat milk, and coffee jelly with soy whip. The curry bread that's sold in the bakery section is also really good, and they have quite a variety of breads.

Nice atmosphere, good burgers, pricey - Edit
The burgers tasted good but 1200円 for just a burger is a little too pricey. Lunch menu for 1000円 (soup, rice and “dish of choice”) was a little underwhelming, because that dish just consists of rice, salad and one plain meat-substitute and that is served cold.

Delicious little spot off Mejiro station - Edit
Really enjoyed vegetarian beast for a reasonably-priced lunch not far from Ikebukuro.
Read moreVegetarian beast is easily accessible from the Yamanote line, a short walk from the Mejiro station. The location itself is about average in size, with about 4-5 tables available.
Not long after we walked in, the staff asked if we had been there before and then explained all the offerings (thankfully, and always appreciatively, in English). They had few different sets available for lunch, mostly a combination of deli items but also a few options with their vegetarian beast burger.
Because we had burgers the night previously, my partner and I opted for the 2 item set, where we had two dishes, with brown rice. She got the curry and macaroni salad, while I got the sweet and sour chicken with the marinated veggies. Everything was excellent, perfect amount of food and not too expensive even with the beer and wine we had to go with it.
Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area looking for some plant-based options.
Pros: Super friendly staff, Reasonably priced

The burger was sold out early... - Edit
We went there for the BEAST BURGER. However the burger was already sold out at 1:30 ... So I ordered 2Dish Combo ¥1,000(Choice of 2 dish from Deli Menu + Brown Rice or Pita Bread).. still the dish's choice was not so much. and the portion was small so I think it was a little bit expensive!

Expensive but delicious burgers - Edit
Good location right near Mejiro station. I ordered a double burger and a carrot salad. They were both delicious. The patties were fairly large and the burger filled with a few fresh veggies and a TON of sauce. Biggest drawback is the price - a double burger and salad was ~2200 yen after tax.

Loved everything except the opening hours - Edit
Best french fries Ive ever had. They were so fresh and really nice seasoned. I also had the best patty ever! I dont know what the patty is made of but I usually dont like tempeh/tofu/seitan/quinoa patties just bulgur/couscous/veggie patties but this one was just nice! Looked liked meat and tasted freaking good!! I also recommend the red fruits & aronia berry iced tea! The chef is lovely. Would recommend but check the opening hours they really suck.

Lovely little place! - Edit
We ordered burgers with a side of fries and they were really good!! Everything tasted really fresh! The customer service was amazing, the lady that served us spoke English and was very sweet and helpful! The place is very small, seats about 8-10 people but it wasn’t busy when we went, takeout is available if there is no seating.

Amazing burger! - Edit
Quite a small place but wasn’t busy at all when we went, so it didn’t have that empty feel to it. The food was honestly amazing, really tasty and the service was very polite. I felt it was also reasonably priced. The top bun of the burger fell off my gf’s burger onto the floor as the server was placing it, and they remade the burger from scratch! She was given a complimentary Mac n cheese salad to eat whilst waiting. I had the double burger patty myself and it went down a treat (I was pretty hungry XD). The organic fresh made fries were gorgeous too, lovely seasoning on them. Definitely recommend popping in if you’re nearby!

Perfect - Edit
So easy to eat here as it is 100% vegan and the staffperson was great at English. We tried the single patty burger and the burger rice plate, which cost about the same but the burger on its own was a somewhat smaller serving. The burger patties were very delicious and the burger rice plate was quite filling. I wish had room for dessert! A little out of the way, but in a peaceful neighborhood compared to the more tourist-centric areas of Tokyo. Would absolutely eat here again!

Fantastic weekday lunch - Edit
The menu has a selection of vegan burgers it looked like, but I went for the deli option, you can choose either 2 or 3 items from the deli and have with sour dough bread or rice (I went for the bread because it’s not often that I find bread I can eat in Japan). You can see at extra to add in a drink which I did (chai tea). They also had a good looking selection of alcoholic drinks which I would have indulged in had I not been eating alone on a weekday lunchtime!
Read moreThe food was all really good, well made and tasty, portion size was perfect for me, although I’m quite a small person, if you have a bigger appetite you may want more (but the burgers were bigger and there were a couple of desserts.
It was really good having some non sweet bread for once like what I grew up with.
They spoke a good amount of English too, Japanese or English speaking you’d be fine.
If you are in need of caffeine I’m afraid you’d be out of luck, the drinks all advertised themselves and naturally 98% caffeine free...normally I’m a caffeine junkie but I went without, had a very nice chai tea and survived!
I payed just under ¥2000.
Pros: Deli style, lots of choice for the meal you wan, Great sour dough bread, Just the right amount of food
Cons: No caffeine
